Abstract
【解決手段】本発明のディスプレイ装置2は、行及び列で配置された複数の画素を有するディスプレイ部20を備え、更に、ソースラインを介して複数の画素へ電力又は電荷を供給する少なくとも1つのソースドライバ22と、ゲートラインを介して複数の画素のオン/オフを制御する少なくとも1つのゲートドライバ24と、ディスプレイ部20を複数のサブディスプレイ部210、220に分けるようサブディスプレイ部210、220の間に設けられ、その間でソースライン及び/又はゲートラインを接続又は切断する境界スイッチ26とを有する。境界スイッチ26がソースライン及び/又はゲートラインを切断する場合は、ソースドライバ及びゲートドライバに直接に接続されたサブディスプレイ部210が駆動される。

Claims (12)
- 行及び列で配置された複数の画素を有するディスプレイ部を備えたアクティブマトリクス型ディスプレイ装置であって、
前記列の数と同数のソースラインを介して前記複数の画素へ電力又は電荷を供給する少なくとも1つのソースドライバと、
前記行の数と同数のゲートラインを介して前記複数の画素のオン/オフを制御する少なくとも1つのゲートドライバと、
前記ディスプレイ部を複数のサブディスプレイ部に分けるよう該複数のサブディスプレイ部の間に設けられ、該複数のサブディスプレイ部の間で前記ソースライン及び/又は前記ゲートラインを接続又は切断する境界スイッチとを有し、
前記境界スイッチが前記ソースライン及び/又は前記ゲートラインを切断する場合は、前記ソースドライバ及び前記ゲートドライバに直接に接続されたサブディスプレイ部が駆動される、アクティブマトリクス型ディスプレイ装置。 - 前記ソースドライバ及び前記ゲートドライバは各1つずつ設けられ、
前記境界スイッチは、前記ディスプレイ部を上下に2つのサブディスプレイ部に分けるよう該サブディスプレイ部の間に設けられ、該サブディスプレイ部の間で前記ソースラインを接続又は切断し、

前記境界スイッチが前記ソースラインを切断した場合は、前記ソースドライバから遠い方のサブディスプレイ部は、前記第2のソースドライバと、前記2つのサブドライバ部のうち当該サブディスプレイ部に直接に接続されたサブドライバ部とによって駆動される、請求項2記載のアクティブマトリクス型ディスプレイ装置。 - 前記ソースドライバ及び前記ゲートドライバは各1つずつ設けられ、
前記境界スイッチは、前記ディスプレイ部を左右に2つのサブディスプレイ部に分けるよう該サブディスプレイ部の間に設けられ、該サブディスプレイ部の間で前記ゲートラインを接続又は切断し、
前記境界スイッチが前記ゲートラインを切断した場合は、前記ゲートドライバから遠い方のサブディスプレイ部は駆動されない、請求項1記載のアクティブマトリクス型ディスプレイ装置。 - 前記ディスプレイ部を挟んで、前記ゲートドライバに対向して配置される第2のゲートドライバを更に有し、
