Abstract
【解決手段】本発明による有機電気発光ディスプレイは、有機電気発光ディスプレイ装置とその駆動方法に関するものであって、駆動電圧と基底電圧及び基準電圧を出力する電源供給部と、データ電圧を出力するソース駆動部と、ポジティブスキャン信号とネガティブスキャン信号を出力するゲート駆動部と、ソース駆動部とゲート駆動部の動作を制御するタイミング制御部と、駆動電圧と基底電圧と基準電圧及びデータ電圧とポジティブスキャン信号とネガティブスキャン信号の入力を受け、データ電圧によって駆動電流が決定される有機発光ダイオードを具備した表示部を含む。

Claims (12)
- 駆動電圧と基底電圧及び基準電圧を出力する電源供給部と;
データ電圧を出力するソース駆動部と;
ポジティブスキャン信号とネガティブスキャン信号を出力するゲート駆動部と;
前記ソース駆動部と前記ゲート駆動部の動作を制御するタイミング制御部と;
前記駆動電圧と前記基底電圧と前記基準電圧及び前記データ電圧と前記ポジティブスキャン信号とネガティブスキャン信号を入力を受け、前記データ電圧によって駆動電流が決定される有機発光ダイオードを具備した表示部と
を含むことを特徴とする有機電気発光ディスプレイ装置。 - 前記表示部は、
前記データ電圧を入力を受けて前記ポジティブスキャン信号によりスイッチング制御されて前記データ電圧を出力する第1スイッチングトランジスタと;
前記基準電圧と前記ネガティブスキャン信号の電位差によりスイッチング制御されて前記ネガティブスキャン信号を出力する第2スイッチングトランジスタと;
前記第1スイッチングトランジスタから出力された前記データ電圧に応答して前記有機発光ダイオードに前記駆動電流を供給する駆動トランジスタと;
前記第1スイッチングトランジスタから出力された前記データ電圧を保存するキャパシタと
を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電気発光ディスプレイ装置。 - 前記ゲート駆動部は、前記ポジティブスキャン信号の出力頻度を前記ネガティブスキャン信号の出力頻度と同じかまたはより高く設定して出力することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の有機電気発光ディスプレイ装置。
- 前記ポジティブスキャン信号のハイレベル電圧は、陽極性電圧であってローレベル電圧は陰極性電圧であり、前記ネガティブスキャン信号のローレベル電圧は陰極性電圧であることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の有機電気発光ディスプレイ装置。
- 前記ネガティブスキャン信号のローレベル電圧は、前記ポジティブスキャン信号のローレベル電圧より低い電圧であることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の有機電気発光ディスプレイ装置。
- 前記ネガティブスキャン信号のローレベル電圧は、前記基準電圧より低い電圧であることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の有機電気発光ディスプレイ装置。
- 前記基準電圧Vrefは、前記ポジティブスキャン信号のハイレベル電圧Vg+Hとローレベル電圧Vg+Lに対して、−[(Vg+H)−(Vg+L)]<Vref<Vg+Lの関係が成立する範囲の一つの電圧であることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の有機電気発光ディスプレイ装置。
- 前記第1スイッチングトランジスタと前記第2スイッチングトランジスタは、全てNMOSトランジスタであることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の有機電気発光ディスプレイ装置。
- スキャンラインに連結されたゲート電極とデータラインに連結されたソース電極を含む第1スイッチングトランジスタと;
基準電圧に連結されたゲート電極と前記スキャンラインに連結されたソース電極を含む第2スイッチングトランジスタと;
前記第1及び第2スイッチングトランジスタのドレイン電極に連結されたゲート電極と基底電圧に連結されたソース電極を含む駆動トランジスタと;
前記駆動トランジスタのゲート電極と前記基底電圧に連結されたキャパシタと;
前記駆動トランジスタのドレイン電極と駆動電圧に連結された有機発光ダイオードと
を含むことを特徴とする有機電気発光ディスプレイ装置。 - 第1スイッチングトランジスタにポジティブスキャン信号を印加する段階と;
前記ポジティブスキャン信号と同期したタイミングで前記第1スイッチングトランジスタを介してデータ電圧を駆動トランジスタに印加して有機発光ダイオードに駆動電流を供給する段階と;
第2スイッチングトランジスタに陰極性電圧である基準電圧及び前記基準電圧より低い電圧のネガティブスキャン信号を印加して前記駆動トランジスタに前記ネガティブスキャン信号を供給する段階と
を含むことを特徴とする有機電気発光ディスプレイ装置の駆動方法。 - 前記基準電圧Vrefは、前記ポジティブスキャン信号のハイレベル電圧Vg+Hとローレベル電圧Vg+Lに対して、−[(Vg+H)−(Vg+L)]<Vref<Vg+Lの関係が成立する範囲の一つの電圧であることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の有機電気発光ディスプレイ装置の駆動方法。
- 前記第1スイッチングトランジスタと前記第2スイッチングトランジスタは、全てNMOSトランジスタで構成されることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の有機電気発光ディスプレイ装置の駆動方法。
