Abstract
【解決手段】本有機電界発光表示装置は、走査駆動部と、データ駆動部と、画素とを含み、前記画素各々は、有機発光ダイオードと、前記有機発光ダイオードに供給される電流量を制御するための第2トランジスタと、i(iは自然数)−1番目発光制御線および第2トランジスタのゲート電極の間に接続されるストレージキャパシタと、i番目走査線、データ線および前記第2トランジスタの第1電極の間に接続され、前記i番目走査線に走査信号が供給される時ターンオンされる第1トランジスタと、前記第2トランジスタのゲート電極および第2電極の間に接続され、前記i番目走査線に走査信号が供給される時ターンオンされる第3トランジスタとを備える。

Description
図1を参照すれば、従来の有機電界発光表示装置の画素4は、有機発光ダイオードと、データ線Dmおよび走査線Snに接続されて、有機発光ダイオードを制御するための画素回路2とを備える。
図2を参照すれば、本発明の実施形態による有機電界発光表示装置は、走査線S1ないしSn、データ線D1ないしDmおよび発光制御線E1ないしEnの交差部に形成される画素40を含む画素部30と、走査線S1ないしSnおよび発光制御線E1ないしEnを駆動するための走査駆動部10と、データ線D1ないしDmを駆動するためのデータ駆動部20と、走査駆動部10およびデータ駆動部20を制御するためのタイミング制御部50とを備える。

Claims (10)
- 走査線に走査信号を順次的に供給して発光制御線に発光制御信号を順次的に供給するための走査駆動部と、
データ線にデータ信号を供給するためのデータ駆動部と、
前記走査線、データ線および発光制御線の交差部に位置される画素と、
を含み、前記画素各々は、
有機発光ダイオードと、
前記有機発光ダイオードに供給される電流量を制御するための第2トランジスタと、
i(iは自然数)−1番目発光制御線および第2トランジスタのゲート電極の間に接続されるストレージキャパシタと、
i番目走査線、データ線および前記第2トランジスタの第1電極の間に接続され、前記i番目走査線に走査信号が供給される時ターンオンされる第1トランジスタと、
前記第2トランジスタのゲート電極および第2電極の間に接続され、前記i番目走査線に走査信号が供給される時ターンオンされる第3トランジスタと、
を備えることを特徴とする有機電界発光表示装置。 - 前記画素各々は、前記第2トランジスタのゲート電極および前記i番目走査線の間に接続されるブスティングキャパシタをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項1記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記画素各々は、
前記第2トランジスタおよび第1電源の間に接続され、i番目発光制御線に発光制御信号が供給されない時ターンオンされる第4トランジスタと、
前記第2トランジスタの第2電極および前記有機発光ダイオードの間に接続され、前記i番目発光制御線に発光制御信号が供給されない時ターンオンされる第5トランジスタと、
をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項2記載の有機電界発光表示装置。 - 前記走査駆動部は、i番目発光制御線に供給される発光制御信号がi−1番目走査線および前記i番目走査線に供給される走査信号と重畳されるように供給することを特徴とする請求項1記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記i−1番目発光制御線に発光制御信号が供給される時、前記i−1番目発光制御線の電圧値は、前記i番目走査線に走査信号が供給されない時、前記i番目走査線に供給される電圧値より高い電圧値に設定されることを特徴とする請求項1記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記ストレージキャパシタは、前記ブスティングキャパシタより高い容量を持つことを特徴とする請求項2記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 駆動トランジスタのゲート電極およびi(iは自然数)−1番目発光制御線の間に接続されるストレージキャパシタを持つ画素を含む有機電界発光表示装置の駆動方法において、
前記i−1番目発光制御線に発光制御信号を供給して前記駆動トランジスタのゲート電極の電圧を上昇させる段階と、
前記i−1番目発光制御線に発光制御信号の供給を中断すると共にi番目走査線に走査信号を供給し、前記ストレージキャパシタにデータ信号および前記駆動トランジスタの閾値電圧に対応する電圧を充電する段階と、
前記ストレージキャパシタに充電された電圧に対応する電流を有機発光ダイオードに供給する段階と、
を含むことを特徴とする有機電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記i番目走査線および前記駆動トランジスタのゲート電極の間に位置されるブスティングキャパシタを利用し、前記i番目走査線に走査信号の供給が中断される時、前記駆動トランジスタのゲート電極電圧を上昇させる段階をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項7記載の有機電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。
- 前記i−1番目発光制御線に発光制御信号が供給される時、前記i−1番目発光制御線の電圧値は、前記i番目走査線に走査信号が供給されない時、前記i番目走査線に供給される電圧値より高い電圧値に設定されることを特徴とする請求項1記載の有機電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。
- 前記ストレージキャパシタは、前記ブスティングキャパシタより高い容量に設定されることを特徴とする請求項8記載の有機電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。
