Abstract
【解決手段】本発明の定着ベルトの製造方法は、離型層82となるフッ素樹脂チューブを円筒状の成形型81の外周面に被せる工程を有し、この上に、弾性層83、基材層84を順に形成して円筒状物を作製し、最後に、該円筒状物80を裏返す。これにより、最外周にくる離型層82が熱収縮率5%以下のフッ素樹脂チューブよりなる本発明の定着ベルト71を得ることができる。

Description
トナー像の定着方法としては、熱定着方式が一般的であり、従来より熱ローラ定着法が汎用されている。熱ローラ定着法では、内部に熱ヒーターを持ち、外周を離型性の良いゴム又は樹脂で被覆したヒートローラとゴムローラからなる一対のローラを圧接させ、そのローラ間にトナー画像が形成された転写紙を通過させてトナーを加熱溶融し、トナーを転写紙上に融着させている。この熱ローラ定着法は、ヒートローラ全体が所定の温度に保持されるため高速化に適している。
さらに、フッ素樹脂チューブの引張強度については、80MPa以上であることが好ましい。この強度範囲であれば、十分な耐久性を持った離型層を形成することができる。また、従来と同程度の耐久性を維持した状態であれば、フッ素樹チューブの厚みを従来よりも薄くできるので、弾性層83の弾性を活かしながら、記録媒体8の微小な凹凸追従することが可能となる。

Claims (9)
- 円筒状をなし、内周側に基材層、外周側に離型層、上記基材層と上記離型層との間に弾性層が形成されている定着ベルトであって、前記離型層が、熱収縮率5%以下のフッ素樹脂チューブよりなることを特徴とする定着ベルト。
- 上記フッ素樹脂チューブの引張強度が80Mpa以上であることを特徴とする請求項1の定着ベルト。
- 上記フッ素樹脂チューブが、ポリテトラフルオロエチレンであることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の定着ベルト。
- 弾性層と接着するフッ素樹脂チューブの表面に、エッチング処理が施されていることを特徴とする請求項1〜3の何れか1項に記載の定着ベルト。
- 請求項1〜4の何れかに1項に記載の定着ベルトを備えることを特徴とする定着装置。
- 請求項5に記載の定着装置を備えることを特徴とする画像形成装置。
- 基材層上に、弾性層及び離型層がこの順に設けられている円筒状の定着ベルトの製造方法であって、
離型層となるフッ素樹脂チューブを円筒状の成形型の外周面に被せる工程と、
前記フッ素樹脂チューブ上に上記弾性層を塗布する工程と、
塗布された上記弾性層を所定の温度で焼成する工程と、
焼成後の上記弾性層上に、上記基材層を塗布する工程と、
塗布された基材層を所定の温度で焼成する工程と、
上記基材層焼成後に、上記フッ素樹脂チューブ、弾性層及び基材層よりなる円筒状物を裏返す工程とを有することを特徴とする定着ベルトの製造方法。 - 上記フッ素樹脂チューブを成形型に被せる工程に、成形型に被せられたフッ素樹脂チューブの表面にエッチング処理を施す工程をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項7に記載の定着ベルトの製造方法。
- 上記フッ素樹脂チューブを成形型に被せる工程と、上記フッ素樹脂チューブ上に弾性層を塗布する工程との間に、成形型に被せられたフッ素樹脂チューブの表面に、シラン原子、チタン原子またはアルミニウム原子を含む沸点10〜100℃である燃料ガスの火炎を吹き付ける処理を行う工程をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項7又は8に記載の定着ベルトの製造方法。
