Abstract
【解決手段】ランレングス映像符号化コマンドを改善する方法(62)が開示される。この方法においては、現在の画素値と以前に送信された画素値とが比較されて、より長いランで圧縮が発生するか否かが決定されることを要求する全ての圧縮コマンドが、厳格なマッチング条件を緩和するように調整される。正確なマッチングを要求する代わりに、圧縮エンジンは、1つの画素値を別の画素値から減算し、その結果の絶対値と閾値とを比較する(63)。このようにして、圧縮の目的のためにランレングスが長くなり得、圧縮効率も向上され得る。

Claims (20)
- 色画素値のシリアルストリームを受信する入力部と;
前記色画素値のうちの現在の1つの色画素値を受信する閾値分析部と;及び
前記閾値分析部と通信して、前記色画素値の前記ストリーム内で、前記色画素値のうちの以前に識別された1つの色画素値を備える色画素値基準を、前記閾値分析部に伝達する映像圧縮部とを具備し、
前記閾値分析部は、前記現在の色画素値に対して色空間ヒステリシスを実行して、前記色画素値のうちの前記現在の1つの色画素値が:
(a)前記色画素値基準に対する現在或いは以前のフレーム内の所定の位置関係と、及び、
(b)前記色画素値基準に対する現在或いは以前のフレーム内の前記所定の位置関係を有する別の画素を含む現在の画素のラン内の所定の位置関係、
のうち少なくとも1つを充足するか否かを決定する
ことを特徴とする映像符号化装置。 - 前記所定の位置関係は、前記現在の色画素値のうちの1つの直ぐ左隣の位置と、前記別の画素との間の位置関係である
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の映像符号化装置。 - 前記所定の位置関係は、前記現在の色画素値のうちの1つの真上の位置と、前記別の画素との間の位置関係である
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の映像符号化装置。 - 前記所定の位置関係は、前記現在の色画素値のうちの1つに対して、直前のフレーム内の共通位置と前記別の画素との間の位置関係である
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の映像符号化装置。 - 前記色空間ヒステリシスは、3次元色空間のカラーパレットを規定し、及び、3次元の前記3次元色空間を、近傍の3次元色空間の一部を含むように拡張することを含む
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の映像符号化装置。 - 色画素値のシリアルストリームを受信する入力部と;及び
前記色画素値のうちの第1の色画素値を記憶し、前記色画素値のうちの現在の1つの色画素値を受信するエンコーダとを具備し、
前記エンコーダは、前記色画素値のうちの前記現在の1つの色画素値が、閾値よりも小さい差で、前記色画素値のうちの前記第1の色画素値を超えるか否かを決定し、そうである場合は、カラーマッチング符号化によって前記現在の1つの色画素値を符号化する
ことを特徴とする映像符号化装置。 - 前記色マッチング符号化は、ランレングス符号化である
ことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の映像符号化装置。 - 前記エンコーダは、前記色画素値のうちの第1及び第2の色画素値を記憶し、
前記エンコーダは、前記色画素値のうちの前記現在の1つの色画素値が、閾値よりも小さい差で、前記第1の色画素値を超えるか否かを決定し、
そうである場合は、第1のバイナリ状態を持つビットとして前記現在の色画素値を符号化し、そうでない場合は、前記色画素値のうちの前記現在の1つの色画素値が、閾値よりも小さい差で、前記第2の色画素値を超えるか否かを決定して、そうである場合は、第2のバイナリ状態を持つビットとして前記現在の色画素値を符号化する
ことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の映像符号化装置。 - 前記エンコーダが、前記色画素値のうちの前記現在の1つの色画素値が、閾値を上回る差で、前記色画素値のうちの前記第1の色画素値を超えることを決定した場合、
前記エンコーダは、色を一意に識別する1バイトを生成することによって、前記現在の色画素値を符号化する
ことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の映像符号化装置。 - 前記色画素値の各々は色画素成分値を含み;及び
前記エンコーダは、前記色画素成分値の第1の組を記憶し、前記色画素成分値の現在の組を受信し、
前記エンコーダは、前記色画素成分値の現在の組のうちのそれぞれ1つが、閾値より小さい差で、前記色画素成分値の前記第1の組のうちの対応する1つを超えるか否かを決定して、前記現在の組のうち全ての色画素成分値に対してそうである場合は、カラーマッチング符号化によって前記現在の画素値を符号化する
ことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の映像符号化装置。 - 前記エンコーダは、前記色画素成分値の第1及び第2の組を記憶し、及び
前記エンコーダは、前記色画素成分値のうちの前記現在値のそれぞれ1つが、閾値より小さい差で、前記第1の色画素成分値のうちの対応するものを超えるか否かを決定して、
前記現在の組のうち全ての色画素成分値に対してそうである場合は、前記現在の画素値を第1のバイナリ状態を持つビットとして符号化し、前記現在の組のうち色画素成分値に対してそうでない場合がある場合は、前記色画素の成分値のうちの前記現在のものが、閾値よりも小さい差で、前記第2の色画素成分値のうちの対応するものを超えるか否かを決定し、前記現在の組のうち全ての色画素成分値に対してそうである場合は、前記現在の色画素値を第2のバイナリ状態を持つビットとして符号化する
ことを特徴とする請求項8に記載の映像符号化装置。 - 画素色値を備えるシリアル映像データ・ストリームを受信し、
前記画素色値のうちの現在の1つの画素色値を識別し、
前記画素色値のうちの前記現在の1つの画素色値と所定の位置関係を持つシリアル映像データ・ストリーム内で、前の画素色値に等しい基準画素色値を識別し、
前記画素色値のうちの前記現在の1つの画素色値が、前記基準画素色値をどの程度超えているかを決定し、
前記画素色値のうちの前記現在の1つの画素色値が、閾値より小さい差で、前記基準画素色値を超えている場合、カラーマッチング符号化によって前記画素色値のうちの前記現在の1つの画素色値を符号化する
ことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記カラーマッチング符号化は、ランレングス符号化である
ことを特徴とする請求項12に記載の方法。 - 前記所定の位置関係は、前記現在の色画素値を含むランの直ぐ左隣の位置である
ことを特徴とする請求項13に記載の方法。 - 前記所定の位置関係は、前記現在の色画素値を含むランの真上の位置である
ことを特徴とする請求項13に記載の方法。 - 前記所定の位置関係は、前記現在の色画素値を含むランの始点に対して、直前のフレーム内の共通位置である
ことを特徴とする請求項13に記載の方法。 - 画素色値を備えるシリアル映像データ・ストリームを受信し、
前記画素色値のうちの現在の1つの画素色値を識別し、
前記画素色値のうちの前記現在の1つの画素色値を含む画素のランの直ぐ隣の異なる2つの前の画素色値に等しい第1及び第2の基準画素色値を識別し、
前記画素色値のうちの前記現在の1つの画素色値が、前記第1の基準画素色値をどの程度超えているかを決定し;
前記画素色値のうちの前記現在の1つの画素色値が、所定の閾値より小さい差で、前記基準画素色値を超えている場合、ビットに基づく符号化によって前記画素色値のうちの前記現在の1つの画素色値を符号化し、ここで、前記ビットは、前記第1の基準画素色値にそれぞれ対応する2つのバイナリ状態のうちの1つに符号化され;
前記画素色値のうちの前記現在の1つの画素色値が、前記所定の閾値を超える差で、前記第1の基準画素色値を超える場合は:
前記画素色値のうちの前記現在の1つの画素色値が、前記第2の基準画素色値をどの程度超えているかを決定し;及び
前記画素色値のうちの前記現在の1つの画素色値が、所定の閾値より小さい差で、前記第2の基準画素色値を超えている場合、ビットに基づく符号化によって前記画素色値のうちの前記現在の1つの画素色値を符号化し、
ここで、前記ビットは、前記第2の基準画素色値に対応する2つのバイナリ状態のうちの1つに符号化される
ことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記画素色値は、複数の画素成分値を備え;
前記画素色値のうちの前記現在の1つの画素色値が、前記第1の基準画素色値をどの程度超えているかを決定するステップは、前記画素色値のうちの前記現在の1つの画素色値の各画素成分値が、前記第1の基準画素色成分値の内の対応するものをどの程度超えているかを決定することを含み;
前記現在の画素成分値の全てが、所定の閾値より小さい差で、前記第1の基準画素色成分値のうちの前記対応するものの全てを超える場合は、ビットに基づく符号化によって前記現在の画素色成分値を符号化し、ここで、前記ビットは、前記第1の基準画素色成分値にそれぞれ対応する2つのバイナリ状態のうちの1つに符号化され;
前記現在の画素成分値が、前記所定の閾値を上回る差で、前記第1の基準画素成分色値を超える場合は:
前記画素色値のうちの前記現在の1つの画素色値が、前記第2の基準画素色値をどの程度超えているかを決定するステップは、前記画素色値のうちの前記現在の1つの画素色値内のそれぞれの画素成分値が、前記第2の基準画素色値のうちの対応するものをどの程度超えているかを決定することを含み;
前記現在の画素成分値の全てが、所定の閾値より小さい差で、前記第2の基準画素色成分値のうちの前記対応するものの全てを超える場合は、ビットに基づく符号化によって前記現在の画素色値を符号化し、ここで、前記ビットは、前記第2の基準画素成分色値にそれぞれ対応する2つのバイナリ状態のうちの1つに符号化される
ことを特徴とする請求項17に記載の方法。 - 複数の異なる圧縮コマンドタイプを使って、映像ストリームを圧縮するエンコーダを含む映像システムであって、これら圧縮コマンドタイプの少なくともいくつかは、既知の画素値をもつ映像ストリーム内の現在の画素値の比較分析を利用する比較コマンドであり、
このシステムの改良は:
選択的に所定のヒステリシス関数を前記比較コマンドのうちの対応するコマンドに追加するシステムを前記エンコーダに備え、
前記ヒステリシス関数によって、異なる圧縮コマンドタイプに関連する対応する比較分析で、カスタマイズされた感度の低減が提供される
ことを特徴とするシステム。 - 前記異なる比較圧縮コマンドタイプは、少なくとも1つのランレングス符号化と、少なくとも1つの2色シリーズ・コマンドタイプとを含み、
前記エンコーダは、前記2色シリーズに対してではなく前記ランレングス符号化に対する異なるヒステリシス関数を提供する
ことを特徴とする請求項19に記載のシステム。
