Abstract
Description
(1)(a)25〜90重量%のエチレンおよび10〜75重量%の酢酸ビニルを含むエチレン酢酸ビニル、(b)直鎖低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)、(c)低密度ポリエチレン(LDPE)、(d)超低密度ポリエチレン(VLDPE)、(e)高密度ポリエチレン(HDPE)、およびそれらの混合物からなる群から選択されるポリオレフィンと、
(2)(f)約1重量%〜約15重量%の官能性コモノマーを含む、約10〜約50重量%の、エチレンと1つの官能性コモノマーとからなるコポリマー、および(g)約50重量%〜約90重量%の、エチレンをベースとするポリマーを含むカップリング剤と、
(3)難燃性無機充填剤とのブレンドを含み、
場合によっては例えば酸化防止剤、二酸化チタン(耐紫外線用であり、生成物に白色を付与するため)、ステアリン酸亜鉛のような処理助剤、および紫外線安定剤を含めて、通常の添加剤をさらに含む組成物が提供される。
本発明の成分(1)として使用する場合のEVAコポリマーは、好ましくは25〜90重量%のエチレンおよび10〜75重量%の酢酸ビニル、より好ましくは55〜75重量%のエチレンおよび15〜30重量%の酢酸ビニルを含む。一般に、これらのEVAは、ASTM D−1238(2.16kgおよび190℃で測定)によって決定して0.05〜100g/10分の範囲、好ましくは50g/10分未満のメルトフローインデックス(MFI)を有し、当技術分野でよく知られている。
成分(2)は、約1重量%〜約15重量%の官能性コモノマーを含む、約10〜約50重量%の、エチレンと1つの官能性コモノマーとのコポリマーと、約50重量%〜約90重量%の、エチレンをベースとするポリマーとを含むカップリング剤である。
成分(3)は、難燃性無機充填剤である。適切な充填剤は、当技術分野で知られている。特有の好ましい難燃性無機充填剤には、アルミニウム三水和物、水酸化マグネシウム、炭酸カルシウム、焼成粘土、タルカム、ポリリン酸アンモニウム、およびそれらの混合物が含まれる。他の難燃性無機充填剤には、ポリリン酸アンモニウムおよび含リンメラミンシアヌレートの単独、またはホウ酸亜鉛のような相乗剤との組合せが含まれる。
そのポリマーおよび難燃性無機充填剤成分に加えて、本発明の組成物は、ポリマーコンパウンド技術分野において知られている酸化防止剤、紫外線安定剤、滑沢剤(例えば、オレアミド)、粘着防止剤、帯電防止剤、ワックス、顔料、二酸化チタン、タルク、および他の処理助剤(例えば、ステアリン酸亜鉛)など通常の添加剤とブレンドすることができる。添加剤は、ポリマー成分、難燃性充填剤、および添加剤に対して全組成物の最高約10重量パーセントを成すことができる。
本発明の組成物は、ポリマー材料、難燃性充填剤、およびオプションの添加剤を、通常の混練装置、例えばゴム用ロール機、ブラベンダーミキサ、バンバリーミキサ、Buss−Koニーダ、ファレル連続ミキサ、または二軸連続ミキサを使用してブレンドすることによって調製することができる。混合時間は、均質なブレンド、および無水マレイン酸基と難燃性充填剤(成分(3))との適切な反応を得るのに十分な程度にすべきである。通常は、混合時間約5分間、および混合温度160℃で十分である。ポリマーブレンドが非均質である場合、追加の混合が必要である。
Claims (8)
- 難燃性の、ハロゲンを含まないポリマー組成物であって、以下の成分:
(1)(a)25〜90重量%のエチレンおよび10〜75重量%の酢酸ビニルを含むエチレン酢酸ビニル、(b)直鎖低密度ポリエチレン、(c)低密度ポリエチレン、(d)超低密度ポリエチレン、(e)高密度ポリエチレン、およびそれらの混合物からなる群から選択されるポリオレフィンと、
(2)(f)約1重量%〜約15重量%の官能性コモノマーを含む、約10〜約50重量%の、エチレンと1つの官能性コモノマーとからなるコポリマー、および(g)約50重量%〜約90重量%の、エチレンをベースとするポリマーを含むカップリング剤と、
(3)難燃性無機充填剤と
のブレンドを含むことを特徴とする組成物。 - 成分(1)が組成物の1〜60重量%を成し、成分(2)が組成物の1〜50重量%を成し、成分(3)が組成物の20〜85重量%を成すことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 成分(1)が組成物の5〜35重量%を成し、成分(2)が組成物の1〜15重量%を成し、成分(3)が組成物の50〜70重量%を成すことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の組成物。
- 成分(3)が、アルミニウム三水和物、水酸化マグネシウム、炭酸カルシウム、焼成粘土、タルカム、ポリリン酸アンモニウム、またはそれらの混合物であることを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- 成分(2)の下位成分(f)が、エチレンと無水マレイン酸またはその官能性等価物とからなるコポリマーであることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- 成分(2)の下位成分(f)が、エチレンとモノエチルマレアートとのコポリマー(EMAME)からなることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の組成物。
- 下位成分(g)のエチレンをベースとするポリマーが、高密度ポリエチレン(HDPE);低密度ポリエチレン(LDPE);直鎖低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE);超低密度ポリエチレン(ULDPE);メタロセン触媒を使用したエチレンとα−オレフィンモノマーとのコポリマー(メタロセンポリエチレン、すなわちMPE);エチレン/プロピレンコポリマー;およびエチレン/プロピレン/ジエンモノマー(EPDM)のようなターポリマーから選択されることを特徴とする請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- 請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載の組成物から形成されることを特徴とする造形品。
