Abstract
【解決手段】インクジェットヘッド3においては、2列に配列された複数の圧力室10と複数の圧力室10に連通する2つのマニホールド流路11が形成されている。マニホールド流路11は、複数の圧力室10の配列方向に延在しており、インク流入口9に近い側から順に形成された主部51、連結部52及び延長部53を有している。主部51の複数の圧力室10の配列方向と直交する方向に関する断面積は、連結部52のこの方向に関する断面積よりも大きく一定となっており、延長部53の複数の圧力室10の配列方向と直交する方向に関する断面積は、連結部52のこの方向に関する断面積よりも大きくなっている。

Claims (9)
- 平面に沿って一方向に配列され且つ複数のノズルにそれぞれ連通する複数の圧力室、及び、これら複数の圧力室に連通する共通液室を含む流路ユニットと、
前記複数の圧力室内の液体に吐出エネルギーを付与するエネルギー付与手段とを備え、 前記共通液室が、
前記液体が流入する流入口と、
前記流入口から前記複数の圧力室の配列方向に延在しており且つ前記配列方向と直交する方向の断面積がほぼ一定である主部と、
前記複数の圧力室を挟んで前記流入口とは反対側に配設され、前記主部の一端に連結されて延在しており且つ当該延在方向と直交する方向の断面積が前記主部の断面積よりも小さい連結部と、
前記連結部を挟んで前記主部とは反対側の端部において前記連結部に連結されて延在しており且つ当該延在方向と直交する方向の断面積が前記連結部の断面積よりも大きい延長部とを有していることを特徴とする液滴噴射装置。 - 前記共通液室を画定する壁面が部分的に突出していることによって、前記主部、前記連結部及び前記延長部が形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液滴噴射装置。
- 前記共通液室を画定する壁面に両端を保持された架橋が設けられていることによって、前記主部、前記連結部及び前記延長部が形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液滴噴射装置。
- 前記延長部の断面積が、前記連結部の断面積の12倍〜13倍であることを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の液滴噴射装置。
- 前記延長部の断面積が、前記主部の断面積よりも大きいことを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の液滴噴射装置。
- 前記配列方向に沿って、複数の前記連結部と複数の前記延長部とが交互に形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の液滴噴射装置。
- 前記流路ユニットに前記共通液室が複数形成されており、
前記流路ユニットが、互いに異なる前記共通液室に属する複数の前記延長部の前記連結部とは反対側の端部同士を互いに接続するように延在した接続部をさらに含んでいることを特徴とする請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の液滴噴射装置。 - 前記接続部の延在方向と直交する方向に沿った断面積が、前記延長部の断面積よりも大きいことを特徴とする請求項7に記載の液滴噴射装置。
- 前記エネルギー付与手段が、前記複数の圧力室に対向する圧電層と、前記圧力室の容積を変化させるために前記圧電層に電界を印加する一対の電極とを含むことを特徴とする請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載の液滴噴射装置。
