Abstract
【解決手段】未加硫ゴムをベント式押出機によって連続的に押出し、その後加熱処理による加硫成形を行うゴム成形体の製造方法において、該未加硫ゴムを押出す、押出条件が、ベント式押出機のゴム非充填領域の体積(Vcm3)と未加硫ゴムの1分間当たりの押出量(W)が以下の式(1)を満足する条件で押出成形する。

Description
しかし、ヘッド温度をあまりに高くすると、やはり、ヤケ等の問題が生じる。ヘッド温度は60℃〜90℃の範囲が好ましい。また、ヘッド流路の絞込みを小さくした場合は、芯金とゴムとの密着性が低下したり、押出時のゴム吐出量が不安定となる為、好ましくない。真空ゾーンの領域を領域を大きくする手段としては、圧縮ゾーン2のスクリュー圧縮比を大きくする事が好ましい。
V/Wが0.9min未満ではベント効果が小さく、ボイドが発生しやすい。また、あまりにV/Wを大きくしようとすると、押出機のL/Dを大きくしたり、押出機のサイズを必要以上に大きくしなければならない。よって好ましいV/Wの範囲としては 1.0〜3.0minである。
表面被覆層は、感光体上にピンホール等の欠陥が生じた場合に、ここに帯電電流が集中して、帯電部材、感光体が破損することを防止するためのものであり、電気抵抗値としては1×106〜1×1010Ω程度が要求され、一般的には公知の被覆層が用いられ、例えばアクリル系ポリマー、ポリウレタン、ポリアミド、ポリエステル、ポリオレフィン、シリコーン等のバインダー高分子に、カーボンブラック、グラファイト、酸化チタン、酸化錫等の酸化物;Cu、Ag等の金属、酸化物や金属を粒子表面に被覆して導電化した導電粒子;LiClO4、KSCN、NaSCN、LiCF3SO3等のイオン性電解質等を適宜量分散させることにより、所望の電気抵抗値としたものが用いられる。
原料ゴムとして、エピクロルヒドリン−エチレンオキサイド−アリルグリシジルエーテル3元共重合体(商品名:エピクロマーCG102 ダイソー(株)社製)100部、加工助剤としてステアリン酸1部、加硫促進助剤として酸化亜鉛5部、充填剤として炭酸カルシウム(商品名:シルバーW 白石工業(株)社製)40部、セバシン酸ポリエステル可塑剤(分子量 8000) 5部、イオン導電剤としてトリメチルアンモニウムパークロレート 1部、架橋剤として硫黄0.5部、加硫促進剤としてジペンタメチレンチウラムテトラスルフィド(DPTT) 2部をオープンロールにて混合し、未加硫ゴム組成物を得た。
直径6mm、長さ256mmの円柱形の導電性芯金(鋼製、表面はニッケルメッキ)の円柱面の軸方向中央部231mmに金属とゴムとの熱硬化性接着剤(商品名:メタロックU−20、東洋化学研究所製)を塗布し、80℃で30分間乾燥した後、120℃で1時間乾燥した。
実施例1
(ゴム非充填領域の体積の測定)
スクリューの体積測定を実施し、シリンダー容量との差から、押出機のゴム経路の体積(T)を算出した。スクリューの体積(S)は、水を入れたメスシリンダーにスクリューを浸漬し、水面高さの変化量からスクリュー体積を算出した。シリンダー容量(C)はシリンダー径とシリンダー長さより算出した。押出機のゴム経路の体積(T)は以下の式(2)で計算される。
また、押出終了後に押出機シリンダー内に充填されているゴムの重量を測定し、未加硫ゴムの比重から、シリンダー内のゴム体積(G)を測定した。
上記の測定の結果、本例でのゴム非充填領域の体積(V)は162.1cm3であり、V/Wは2.26minであった。
本例では加硫炉温度は170℃であり、加硫時間(加硫炉通過時間)は60分であった。

上記弾性体層の上に以下に示す表面層を被覆形成し、帯電ローラを作成した。
以上の様にして得られた帯電ローラの表面について、目視による欠陥観察を行った。ローラ表面のボイド起因の欠陥をボイドレベルとし、以下のレベル分けを行った。
この帯電ローラを図4に示した電子写真装置(Color LaserJet 3700 ヒューレット・パッカード製)に組込み画像評価を行った。画像評価はハーフトーン画像を形成させて行い、帯電ローラの表面欠陥起因の黒ポチ画像不良が見られるものを×、画像不良の発生の無い物は○とした。

Claims (7)
- 未加硫ゴムをベント式押出機によって連続的に押出し、その後加熱処理による加硫成形を行うゴム成形体の製造方法において、
該未加硫ゴムを押出す押出条件が、ベント式押出機のゴム非充填領域の体積(Vcm3)と1分間当たりの未加硫ゴム押出量(Wcm3/min)が以下の式(1)を満足する条件で押出成形すること含むこと特徴とする、ゴム成形体の製造方法。
V / W ≧ 0.9min ・・・・ (1) - 押出機のスクリューダム部とシリンダーとのクリアランスが、0.2mm以下であることを特徴とする、請求項1記載のゴム成形体製造方法。
- 押出機のシリンダー温度が60℃以上に調整されている請求項1または2に記載のゴム成形体の製造方法。
- 加熱処理による加硫成形を、常圧下で実施することを特徴とする、請求項1乃至3の何れかに記載のゴム成形体製造方法。
- 請求項1記載の方法で良導電性の基材を用いて製造され、さらにその外側に設けられた少なくとも1層以上からなる半導電性ゴム弾性体層を設けることを特徴とする請求項1乃至4の何れかに記載のゴム成形体製造方法。
- 該半導電性ゴム弾性体層がエピクロルヒドリンゴム、NBR、クロロプレンゴム、アクリルゴム、ウレタンゴムからえらばれた少なくとも1種の極性ゴムを含有することを特徴とする、請求項5に記載のゴム成形体製造方法。
- 請求項1乃至6の方法で作られた帯電ローラ。
