Abstract
【解決手段】維持パルス数の関係が小となる第1のサブフィールドと、第1のサブフィールドを除くサブフィールドのうち、維持パルス数が最小であるサブフィールドに対し、それぞれ異なる電圧の初期化波形を印加することにより、隣接セル間にて放電干渉があった場合でも、全ての放電セルにおいて書き込み動作を正常に行うことができ、しかもコントラスト比が高いプラズマディスプレイ装置を提供することができる。

Claims (4)
- 走査電極及び維持電極とこの電極に対し直交して配置されたデータ電極とが交差した部分に放電セルを形成したプラズマディスプレイパネルと、前記走査電極に電圧波形を印加する走査駆動回路とを備え、1フィールドを少なくとも発光維持期間を含む複数のサブフィールドで構成し、かつ前記発光維持期間に走査電極に印加する維持パルス数の関係が大から小となる連続したサブフィールドの構成を1フィールド中に少なくとも1以上含むプラズマディスプレイ装置であって、前記維持パルス数の関係が小となる第1のサブフィールドと、この第1のサブフィールドを除くサブフィールドのうち、維持パルス数が最小であるサブフィールドに対しそれぞれ異なる電圧の初期化波形を印加するように構成したことを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 1フィールドを構成するサブフィールドのうち、第1のサブフィールドを除いて維持パルス数が最小のサブフィールドにおける初期化波形の電圧は、他のサブフィールドにおいて印加する初期化波形の電圧に対して大となるように構成したことを特徴とする請求項1記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 初期化波形の電圧は入力画像信号レベルによって決定することを特徴とする請求項1記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 入力画像信号レベルによって初期化波形の電圧を決定する初期化電圧決定手段を備えたことを特徴とする請求項3記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
