Description
円筒形壁及び軸を有する実質的に円筒形の流動体チャンバーであって、第1流動体(A)と、混和性を有さず、メニスカスで接し異なる屈折率を有し、軸方向に配置された第2流動体(B)とを含む流動体チャンバー、
上記円筒形壁の内部に配置された流動体接触層、
上記流動体接触層により第1流動体と第2流動体から分離された第1電極、及び
第2流動体に作用する第2電極、
を有し、
上記の流動体接触層は、第2流動体により湿潤性を与えられており、上記のメニスカスの形状は、第1電極と第2電極との間の電圧に依存して変化するように、第1電極と第2電極との間に電圧を適用すると変化し、
第2流動体による流動体接触層の湿潤性は、第1電極と第2電極との間に電圧が適用されない場合、メニスカスと接触層との交差点の両側が実質的に同一である、
ことを特徴としている。
Claims (16)
- 円筒形壁を有する実質的に円筒形の流動チャンバーであって、該流動体チャンバーは、第1流動体と軸方向に配置された第2流動体とを有し、該第1流動体と該第2流動体とは混和性せず、且つ、メニスカスで接し、且つ、異なる屈折率を有する、実質的に円筒形の流動チャンバー、
前記円筒形壁の内部上に配置された流動体接触層、
前記流動体接触層により、前記第1流動体及び第2流動体から分離された第1電極、並びに
前記第2流動体に作用する第2電極、
を有し、
前記流動体接触層は、前記メニスカスの形状が前記第1電極と前記第2電極との間の電圧に依存して変化するように、前記第1電極と前記第2電極との間に電圧を適用して変化する第2流動体による湿潤性を有し、且つ
前記第2流動体による前記流動体接触層の前記湿潤性は、前記第1電極と前記第2電極との間に電圧が適用されない場合、前記メニスカスと前記接触層との交差点の両側において実質的に同一となっている、
ことを特徴とする可変フォーカスレンズ。 - 前記流動体接触層の内部表面は、線形断面を有しており、該線形断面は、前記表面の前記の実質的に円筒形の形状の軸に対して10°以内で平行であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のレンズ。
- 前記第1流動体は、絶縁性液体を有し、且つ
前記第2流動体は、導電性液体を有する、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のレンズ。 - 前記第1流動体は、蒸気を有し、且つ
前記第2流動体は、導電性液体を有する、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のレンズ。 - 前記第2流動体から見た場合、凹面のメニスカス形状を生成するように配置され、
該形状は、前記第1電極と前記第2電極との間に適用される電圧の度合いの増加に伴い凹面の度合いが減少する、
ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか一項に記載のレンズ。 - 前記流動体接触層は、均一の厚みの実質的に均一層であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至5のいずれか一項に記載のレンズ。
- 前記第1電極は、実質的に円筒形であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至6のいずれか一項に記載のレンズ。
- 前記第1流動体は、前記第2流動体よりも大きな屈折率を有し、
前記メニスカスが前記第1流動体に関連して凹面となる場合に正のレンズ出力を有するように、正のレンズ出力を与える少なくとも一つの固定レンズ要素を有する複合レンズである、
ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至7のいずれか一項に記載のレンズ。 - 請求項1乃至8のいずれか一項に記載のレンズを有する光学装置であって、
フォーカス平面を規定する手段を有しており、
平行なレイで構成している放射が入力され且つ前記第1電極と前記第2電極との間に電圧が適用されない場合、前記放射が、前記フォーカス表面上にフォーカスされる、
ことを特徴とする装置。 - 前記請求項1乃至8のいずれか一項に記載のレンズを有する画像キャプチャー装置。
- 前記請求項1乃至10のいずれか一項に記載のレンズを有する、光学記録キャリアを走査する光学走査装置。
- 前記レンズは、走査される光学記録キャリアにおける異なる情報層の深さを走査する間、上昇する球面収差を修正すべく配置されていることを特徴とする請求項12に記載の光学走査装置。
- 円筒形壁を有する実質的に円筒形の流動チャンバーであって、該流動体チャンバーは、第1流動体と軸方向に配置された第2流動体とを有し、該第1流動体と該第2流動体とは混和せず、且つ、メニスカスで接し、且つ、異なる屈折率を有する、実質的に円筒形の流動チャンバー、
前記円筒形壁の内部上に配置された流動体接触層、
前記流動体接触層により、前記第1流動体及び第2流動体から分離された第1電極、並びに
前記第2流動体に作用する第2電極、
を有する可変フォーカスレンズの動作方法であって、
前記第2流動体による前記流動体接触層の湿潤性は、前記第1電極と前記第2電極との間の電圧が適用されない場合、前記メニスカスと前記接触層との交差点の両側において実質的に同一であり、且つ
前記第2流動体による前記流動体接触層の前記湿潤性は、前記第1電極と前記第2電極との間の電圧の適用にて変化し、
前記メニスカスの形状を変化するように前記電圧を制御することを有することを特徴とする方法。 - 前記第2流動体から見た場合、凹面のメニスカス形状を生成するように前記電圧を変化させることを有する請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記第2流動体から見た場合、凹面のメニスカス形状を生成するように前記電圧を変化することをさらに有する前記請求項13又は14に記載の方法。
- 前記メニスカスは、前記流動体接触層に対して100°以上140°以下の接触角を有することを特徴とする請求項15に記載の方法。
