Abstract
Description
で表される化合物とを含有することを特徴とする電気二重層キャパシタ用電解液を提供するものである。
テトラアルキルアンモニウム塩は、鎖状カーボネートに対する溶解度が低かったが、本発明のスピロ化合物(1)は、鎖状カーボネートに対する溶解度が高いものであった。従って、鎖状カーボネートであるDMCとスピロ化合物(1)を電解質として使用することにより、高粘性、低電導度等の課題を解決した優れた電解液及び二重層キャパシタが実現できたと考えられる。
実 施 例 1
ピロリジン71g(1.0モル)に、炭酸カリウム69g(0.5モル)存在下、ジクロロブタン127g(1.0モル)を加え、85℃で6時間反応させて、スピロ−(1,1’)−ビピロリジニウムクロライド163gを得た。このスピロ−(1,1’)−ビピロリジニウムクロライドに、テトラフルオロホウ酸を当量添加し、常温で30分間中和反応をさせた。その後、減圧下で脱水及び塩化水素の除去を行って、SBP−BF4を得た。
SBP−BF4に代えて、TEMA−BF4を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様にして、電解液の製造を試みた。しかしTEMA−BF4の溶解度が、0.004mol/Lと低いため、所望の2.0 mol/Lの電解液が得られなかった。
SBP−BF4に代えて、TEMA−BF4を用い、DMCに代えて、PCを用いた以外は実施例1と同様にして、TEMA−BF4が2.0 mol/Lの電解液(TEMA−BF4/PC)を得た。
測 定 例 1
実施例1及び比較例2で得られた電解液の30℃における粘性率を、円錐平板型粘度計(トキメック社製)で測定した。また、30℃における電導度を、電極法電導度計(横川電機社製)により測定した。この結果を表1に示す。
実 施 例 2
次に、実施例1で調製された電解液を、図1の構造を有する容器に充填し、電気二重層キャパシタ1を製造した。なお、第一の電極3及び第二の電極5は、いずれも活性炭を主成分とする電導性物質をバインダーと混練して、円板状に成形したものであり、第一の容器2及び第二の容器4は共にアルミニウム製であり、第一の電極3及び第二の電極5は、それぞれ電導性接着剤等により接着されている。また、隔膜6は、レーヨン系抄紙である。
実施例2において、実施例1で調製した電解液に代えて、比較例2で調製した電解液を使用した以外は、実施例2と同様にして電気二重層キャパシタを得た。
測 定 例 2
実施例2及び比較例3で製造された電気二重層キャパシタに対し、充放電試験装置を用いて段階的に電圧を印可し、各電圧毎に、電解液の分解によって生じる反応電流を測定することにより、実施例1と比較例2の電解液の耐電圧値を求めた。
そして、この電気二重層キャパシタは、高電圧で作動させても静電容量の低下が小さく、長期信頼性に優れたものであり、充電、放電も速やかであるため、電気自動車やハイブリッドカー等電気エネルギーで駆動する自動車等で広く利用できるものである。

Claims (5)
- 式(1)で表されるスピロ化合物が、テトラフルオロホウ酸スピロ−(1,1’)−ビピロリジニウムである請求項1記載の電気二重層キャパシタ用電解液。
- テトラフルオロホウ酸スピロ−(1,1’)−ビピロリジニウムを、1.7〜2.2 mol/Lの濃度で含有する請求項2記載の電気二重層キャパシタ用電解液。
- 請求項1ないし請求項3の何れかの請求項記載の電解液を用いて作製された電気二重層キャパシタ。
- 第一の容器体及びこれと電気的に接続する第一の電極、第二の容器体及びこれと電気的に接続する第二の電極並びに第一の電極と第二の電極を隔離する隔膜よりなり、第一の容器体と第二の容器体の間を、請求項1ないし請求項3の何れかの請求項記載の電解液で満たし、更に非電導性材料で電気的に接続しないように密封したことを特徴とする電気二重層キャパシタ。
