Abstract

【課題】レーザー光線を焦点面に点として用い樹脂を加熱する方法、特にレーザー透過法に基づいて樹脂を溶接する方法、及びレーザー光線を形成する装置からの光線を受ける操作ヘッド光線を用いて樹脂を加熱する装置を提供する。
【解決手段】レーザー光線を用いた焦点面への複数のレーザー光点による樹脂の加熱方法及び装置であり、複数のレーザー光点は多重くさび板を有する光学的構成により実現される。この構成を操作ヘッドに組込み、これにより、任意の輪郭線を有する透過溶接の溶接工程の改良が可能となる。

Description

本発明はレーザー光線を焦点面に点として用い樹脂を加熱する方法、特にレーザー透過法に基づいて樹脂を溶接する方法に関する。本発明はレーザー光線を形成する装置からの光線を受ける操作ヘッドによりレーザー光線を用いて樹脂を加熱する装置に関する。
レーザー光線を用いて樹脂を溶接することはよく知られており、いわゆる透過溶接法において、レーザー光線に対して透明な第1の樹脂部材とレーザー光線を吸収する第2の樹脂部材との境界面を加熱し、加圧下で互いに溶接するものである。レーザーを樹脂構成部材の上を走査し、所望の速度で、しかも品質を保証するように、光路に予熱工程を設けることが必要で、それぞれ工程において加熱を周知の方法で行うように配慮すべきである。これについては、複数のレーザー光線を点状に順次導入することにより、樹脂素材は第1の工程において予熱温度へと昇温し、第2の工程において溶接温度へと昇温する方法が知られている。
布地、箔及び封止ネットを積層した防水シート溶接では、溶接継ぎ目の強度を検査するため、溶接後の試験組織が必要となる。レーザー光線を用いて溶接する際には、溶接中に試験組織を生成することも必要となる。通常は二重溶接線の生成によりこの組織も生成する。
一つの光源からそれぞれの方向へ同質の複数の光を発生させる光線分割が知られている。光線分割器の光学的性質により、それぞれの方向への光の強度が決まる。しかし、それぞれに相応の光線を生成、平行化するために、総体的なレンズ構成要素が必要となるので、所要面積及びコストは比較的高くなる。特に、僅かな空間的な光の分割ではこの方法は使用できない。
本発明は、上記課題に基づいて、扱い易さ、柔軟性及び可能な限り光ファイバーを用いること念頭に、複数のレーザー光点を焦点面に生成する可能性を提案することにある。
これらの課題は、請求項1の特徴を有する方法及び装置を記載した請求項の特徴を有する装置により解決される。その他の有益な形態は従属請求項に述べる。
本発明による方法及び装置により、点光線源を光ファイバーや拘束の無い光として任意に発生させ、レンズの組み合わせにより拡大及び平行光とする。平行光は、生成すべきレーザー光点の数に応じて分割される。本明細書では、平面に生成するレーザー光点の数に相当する多重くさび板と称する板を用い、レーザー光点の生成する面は光軸に垂直な面に対してやや傾いている。このくさびは基本的には小角度の偏向プリズムである。2つより多いレーザー光点の場合には、多重くさび板は平面より所定の角度傾いた複数の一点に収束する点を有する平面状のピラミッド構造を示す。多重くさび板を光路の中心に配置し、光軸からの変位に応じて、個々の光点を異なった光強度とすることができる。
従って、本発明は光学系内部にレーザー光線を最小に空間的分割することを実現する可能性を提供する。焦点面上の分割光点の距離の調節は簡単にできる。この構成は操作ヘッド内に組み込みが可能であり、最小の大きさの構造を有し、自由に柔軟に動かすことができる。光学的構成要素のみが光の分割に関与しているので、単一、二重あるいは多重光線を光学的に切替えることができる。分割された光線はほぼ同一の光軸に沿って進むので、最小の調整により幾何学的構成が実現できる。
更には、集光レンズの後方のレーザー光線に対して透明な、特にガラス製の球において分離光は結合し、球の動きに応じてレーザー光線は焦点面へと導かれる。
特にフィルムの溶接に必要とされる平行なジグザグ状の溶接線を生成するために、本発明は更に、光路を横断して動く2つの偏向素子を介してレーザー光点を生成している。特に偏向素子は所定の角度傾けて相対して配置し、交互に光路に動かすようになっている。この配置を操作ヘッドに納めることにより、特に溶接すべき樹脂素材上の透明な球との組み合わせにおいて、ほぼ任意の輪郭線に沿って加熱及び溶接可能となる簡単に操作可能な素子が実現できる。
以下、図面を用いて本発明の実施例を詳細に説明する。
図1はレーザー光線2を放射する光ファイバー1を示す。レーザー光線はレンズ3によって平行光線となり、二重くさび板4に到達する。図からわかるように、平行レーザー光線2′に面する平面が中心から外側に傾斜して、レーザー光線が中心の光軸からやや変位するようにくさび5、6を配置している。このことは図中の後続のレンズ8上の重複する領域7で示される。二重くさび板は、光伝達方向に沿ってレーザー光線がやや変位するように相対して配置した2つのプリズムの役割を果たしている。光線は二つの部分2″に分かれ、平行光線のまま、2つの異なった方向へ伝達していく集光レンズ8により、2つに分かれた光線は焦点面9に集束し、2つの光点10、11を形成する。くさび角及び集光レンズの光学的特性が2つの光点10、11間の距離を決める。二重くさび板4を回転することにより2つの光点10、11は光軸周りを対称的に回転する。
この場合、焦点面における光線の形状は擬似ガウス曲線ではなく、2つの半円を形成するが、依然として通常の点と看做してもよい。この光線でも実質的に樹脂部材を接合する溶接工程に何らの影響も及ぼさない。
光の強度も空間的分割によって決まる(図6参照)。図4Aに示すような二重溶接線では、2つのレーザー光点の相似性が溶接工程に重要である。図6に示すように二重くさび板4が中心からずれると光の強度分布は非対称となる。この特性は、図4B、図5及び図6に示すように、予熱過程を組込んだ輪郭線溶接工程に使用できる。溶接の要求度に応じて、2つのレーザー光点間の距離及び予熱/溶接投与エネルギー比率を最適化することができる。
二重くさび板を回転することにより2つのレーザー光点から形成したリングを生成できる。図3Aの3つのくさび12、図3Bの4つのくさび12及び図3Cの5つのくさび12あるいはそれ以上のくさびを1つの多重くさび板に配置することにより、それに対応して光線の数を増やすことができる。
例えば図2に示すように、全体の配置を操作ヘッド13内に組込むことができる。操作ヘッド13中には、レーザー光線が焦点面へ向かうように、例えばガラスあるいは樹脂のような透明な素材製の回転可能な球22を末端に配置している。球22を介して、接合の際に手動あるいは機械的に溶接操作に必要な押圧力を加えることができる。
図4には2つの原理的に可能な溶接操作を示す。図4Aでは2つの光点10、11は矢印の方向に平行に移動し、2つの溶接縫合部14、14′を形成している。この方法は特に試験用溝を有するフィルムの溶接に必要となる。図4Bでは光点10、11が溶接方向に相前後して移動し、唯一の溶接縫合部14を生成する。この2つの図では便宜上、図1、2に示す光学的配置を原理的に暗示しているのみである。
図5にはレーザー光線に透明な第1の加工部材15及びその下のレーザー光線を吸収する加工部材16を示し、溶接方向に相前後して移動する2つの光点10、11により互いに溶接される。光点10、11は2つの加工部材15、16の間の接触面に焦点を結び、焦点面9を形成する。同図に示したグラフは焦点面9の領域における温度を示す。経路に沿った予熱区間23及び溶接区間24から全体の工程を構成していることがわかる。
既に述べたように、図6には大きなくさび5及び小さなくさび6を有する二重くさび板4を示し、それに対応して小さな光点11及び大きな光点10を焦点面9に形成する。ここでも、溶接方向に移動することによって溶接の予熱を実現している。この図では、経路の関数としての光強度を原理的に暗示している。
図7は溶接方向に移動する2つのレーザー光点10、11によって生成する2つの平行なジグザグ状の溶接輪郭線17、18を生成する配置を示す。ここでは、二重くさび板4の後方に配置した二重くさび19をレーザー光線2の光路中の光軸を横切って左右に動かす。その際、境界線20が二重くさび板4のくさび5、6間の境界線21に平行になるように二重くさび19を配置する。
実施例では2つの二重くさびは厚い側が向き合うように構成している。全く同様に、狭い側を向き合わせてもよい。モータ及びそれに対応する機構を用いて簡単で周知の方法により、二重くさび19の左右の動きが実現できる。

Claims (8)

  1. レーザー透過法に基づいて樹脂を溶接するために、焦点面(9)上の単一のレーザー光線(2)からの複数のレーザー光点を用いて樹脂を加熱する方法であって、レーザー光線(2)は第一のレンズ(3)により平行化され、平行化されたレーザー光線(2′)はくさび(5、6;12)の数に相当する数のレーザー光点(10、11)を生成するように多重くさび板(4)を用いて所定の角度変位し、分割され、分割されたレーザー光線(2″)は各々の伝達方向へ集光するレンズ(8)により更に調整され、集光レンズ(8)により焦点面(9)上に光点(10、11)を生成することを特徴とする樹脂の加熱方法。
  2. 分離されたレーザー光線は集光レンズ(8)の後方において、レーザー光線に対して透明な球(22)に入射し、球(22)の動きに応じて焦点面(9)に導かれることを特徴とする請求項1記載の樹脂の加熱方法。
  3. 個々のくさび(5、6;12)の大きさに応じてレーザー光点の強度が決まることを特徴とする請求項1記載の樹脂の加熱方法。
  4. レーザー光線(2)を横切って移動する偏向素子(19)によって生成した2つのレーザー光点(10、11)は焦点面(9)上を共にジグザグ状に動くことを特徴とする請求項1記載の樹脂の加熱方法。
  5. 焦点面(9)上にジグザグ状の輪郭線(17、18)を生成するように、レーザー光線(2′)を所定の角度、交互に逆に変位させる2つのくさび(19)をレーザー光路へと動かすことを特徴とする請求項4記載の樹脂の加熱方法。
  6. レーザー光線を用いて樹脂を加熱する装置であって、操作ヘッド(13)中のレーザー光線(2)の光路に、レーザー光線(2)を平行化する第1のレンズ(3)、くさび(5、6;12)の数に相当する数のレーザー光点(10、11)を生成する多重くさび板(4)及び焦点面(9)上に個々の光点を結ぶ集光レンズ(8)を配置したことを特徴とする樹脂の加熱装置。
  7. 操作ヘッド(13)は集光レンズ(8)の後方にレーザー光線に透明な球(22)を備え、操作ヘッド(13)内において回転可能に配置したことを特徴とする請求項6記載の樹脂の加熱装置。
  8. 多重くさび板(4)を二重くさび板として形成し、該くさび板と集光レンズ(8)の間に2つの偏向くさび(19)を備え、その境界面(20)は二重くさび板(4)の境界面(21)と平行であり、レーザー光線(2)を横切って左右に移動可能であることを特徴とする請求項6あるいは請求項7記載の樹脂の加熱装置。
