Abstract
【解決手段】 コア層3の光入射部5を光出射部7の幅よりも拡大された幅に形成し、この光入射部5の少なくとも側面6を反射面とし、光入射部5の端部を放物線形に形成し、光入射部5の下面に接してLED13を配置することにより、LED13からの光信号の光入射部5への入射効率を高め、光入射部5の側面6で高効率にて反射させ、入射光の集光効率を高める。

前記コア層の光入射部が前記コア層の光出射部よりも拡大された幅に形成され、
前記コア層の前記光入射部の少なくとも側面が反射面として、前記光入射部への入射 光を前記光出射部側へ反射する形状に形成され、
前記光入射部の前記側面以外の面に、光源が接触若しくは対向状態で配置されている
ことを特徴とする、光導波路(以下、本発明の光導波路と称する。)に係るものである。
図1及び図2は本実施の形態の光導波路10の概略図を示し、図1(a)は図1(b)のa−a線断面図、図1(b)は図1(a)のb−b線断面図である。また、図2は図1と同様な断面を示し、入射光の反射と反射光の導波過程を示す図である。
図3及び図4は本実施の形態の光導波路10Aの概略図を示し、図3(a)は図3(b)のa−a線断面図、図3(b)は図3(a)のb−b線断面図である。また、図4は図3と同様な断面を示し、入射光の反射と反射光の導波過程を示す図である。

Claims (10)
- コア層とクラッド層との接合体からなる光導波路において、
前記コア層の光入射部が前記コア層の光出射部よりも拡大された幅に形成され、
前記コア層の前記光入射部の少なくとも側面が反射面として、前記光入射部への入射 光を前記光出射部側へ反射する形状に形成され、
前記光入射部の前記側面以外の面に、光源が接触若しくは対向状態で配置されている
ことを特徴とする、光導波路。 - 前記光入射部の前記側面が平面的にみて放物線形、半円形又は多角形に形成されている、請求項1に記載した光導波路。
- 前記光入射部の少なくとも側面が光反射性金属膜で覆われている、請求項1に記載した光導波路。
- 前記光出射部が少なくとも2個設けられ、これらの光出射部を形成する各コア層が前記光出射部側で合流されて共通の光出射部を形成している、請求項1に記載した光導波路。
- 異なる波長帯の光信号が前記コア層に集光されて合波される、請求項4に記載した光導波路。
- 前記コア層下のクラッド層内に前記光源が一体化され、この光源の発光部が前記光入射部に接している、請求項1に記載した光導波路。
- 前記コア層の幅が、前記光入射部から前記光出射部側へ直線的に小さくなっている、請求項1に記載した光導波路。
- 前記光源が発光ダイオードである、請求項1に記載した光導波路。
- 請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載した光導波路と、この光導波路のコア層に光を入射させる光入射手段と、前記コア層からの出射光を受け入れる受光手段とによって構成された光情報処理装置。
- 前記出射光が走査手段を介して投影されるように構成されたディスプレイである、請求項9に記載した光情報処理装置。
