Abstract
【解決手段】フィルタ入口側温度センサとフィルタ出口側温度センサとから微粒子捕集フィルタの温度TMP_DPFを求め(S204〜S207)、差圧センサの出力から微粒子捕集フィルタ前後の差圧DP_DPF_FLTを求める(S202,203)。排気流量QEXHの値と、これらの温度TMP_DPFおよび差圧DP_DPF_FLTを用いて、ベルヌーイの定理の関係式に沿って、現在の微粒子捕集フィルタの理論的な等価面積を求める(S211〜S220)。排気圧力およびフィルタの温度によって、フィルタの微細な通路の面積が物理的に変化するので、所定のマップから排気流量およびフィルタ温度に応じた補正係数を求め(S222)、これを理論値に乗じて補正する(S221)。

Description
上記特許文献1の技術は、この関係式に近似するように、排気温度およびエンジン回転数に基づく補正を加えたものであるが、本発明者の知見によると、仮に、この関係式に正確に基づいて、等価面積(理論値)を求めたとしても、図9に示すように、排気微粒子堆積量との関係はやはり運転条件によって変化する。つまり、仮に等価面積を理論的に正確に求めたとしても、排気微粒子堆積量の推定精度は低い。
排気微粒子を捕集する微粒子捕集フィルタを排気通路に介装してなるエンジンの排気浄化装置において、
エンジンの新気流量と燃料噴射量とを用いて排気流量を求め、
上記微粒子捕集フィルタの前後圧力差と上記排気流量とを用いて上記微粒子捕集フィルタ入口側の排気圧力を求め、
上記微粒子捕集フィルタの温度と上記排気圧力とを用いて排気密度を求め、
この排気密度と上記排気流量とを用いて微粒子捕集フィルタの等価面積基本値を求め、
上記排気流量と微粒子捕集フィルタの温度とをパラメータとして、補正係数を求め、
この補正係数を上記等価面積基本値に乗じて、上記微粒子捕集フィルタの等価面積を求めることを特徴としている。
以下の処理では、この(1)式の関係から、そのときの微粒子捕集フィルタ29の等価面積Aを求めている。

Claims (6)
- 排気通路に介装され、かつエンジンが排出する排気微粒子を捕集する微粒子捕集フィルタと、この微粒子捕集フィルタの前後の圧力差を検出する手段と、エンジンの排気流量を検出もしくは推定する手段と、上記微粒子捕集フィルタを通過する排気の温度を検出もしくは推定する手段と、を備え、上記圧力差と上記排気流量と上記排気温度とに基づいて上記微粒子捕集フィルタの通路としての等価面積を求めることにより排気微粒子の堆積状態を判定するようにしたエンジンの排気浄化装置において、
上記圧力差と上記排気流量と上記排気温度とに基づいて算出した基本の等価面積を、さらに上記微粒子捕集フィルタの温度および上記排気流量により補正することを特徴とするエンジンの排気浄化装置。 - 所定のマップにより上記微粒子捕集フィルタの温度および排気流量に対応する補正係数を求め、この補正係数を基本の等価面積に乗じて補正を行うことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のエンジンの排気浄化装置。
- 微粒子堆積量が0のときの初期等価面積を、微粒子捕集フィルタの温度に応じた値として求める手段と、上記の補正後の等価面積と上記初期等価面積との比率に基づいて、微粒子捕集フィルタに堆積している微粒子量を推定する手段と、を備えていることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載のエンジンの排気浄化装置。
- 推定した微粒子量が所定量に達したときに、微粒子捕集フィルタの強制的な再生を行う再生手段を備えていることを特徴とする請求項3に記載のエンジンの排気浄化装置。
- 上記微粒子捕集フィルタは、柱状のフィルタ材料にハニカム状の微細通路を多数形成するとともに、その端部を交互に閉塞したウォールフローハニカム構造のフィルタであることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載のエンジンの排気浄化装置。
- 排気微粒子を捕集する微粒子捕集フィルタを排気通路に介装してなるエンジンの排気浄化装置において、
エンジンの新気流量と燃料噴射量とを用いて排気流量を求め、
上記微粒子捕集フィルタの前後圧力差と上記排気流量とを用いて上記微粒子捕集フィルタ入口側の排気圧力を求め、
上記微粒子捕集フィルタの温度と上記排気圧力とを用いて排気密度を求め、
この排気密度と上記排気流量とを用いて微粒子捕集フィルタの等価面積基本値を求め、
上記排気流量と微粒子捕集フィルタの温度とをパラメータとして、補正係数を求め、
この補正係数を上記等価面積基本値に乗じて、上記微粒子捕集フィルタの等価面積を求めることを特徴とする微粒子捕集フィルタの微粒子堆積状態判定方法。
