Abstract
Description
Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. 炭酸カルシウムと苛性マグネシウム酸化物とを有する硬化可能組成物に有 害廃棄物質を添加し、スラリーを形成する工程と、前記スラリーを硬化させて有 害廃棄物質あるいはその成分をカプセル化する工程と、を有する有害廃棄物質あ るいはその成分をカプセル化する方法。 2. 砒素成分に、硫酸塩、塩化鉄および/またはアルカリ剤、そして水分を添 加してスラリーを形成する工程と、前記スラリーに、炭酸カルシウムと苛性マグ ネシウム酸化物とを有する硬化可能組成物を混合する工程と、前記組成物を硬化 させて前記砒素成分をカプセル化させる工程と、 を有する砒素、亜砒酸ナトリウム、砒素三酸化物、砒素五酸化物から成る群か ら選択される砒素成分をカプセル化する方法。 3. 水銀あるいはその成分を、炭酸カルシウムと苛性マグネシウム酸化物とを 有する硬化可能組成物に添加し、スラリーを形成する工程と、前記スラリーを硬 化させ、前記水銀あるいはその成分をカプセル化する工程と、を有する水銀ある いはその成分をカプセル化する方法。 4. ニッケル及びクロムあるいはその成分を、炭酸カルシウムと苛性マグネシ ウム酸化物とを有する硬化可能組成物に添加し、スラリーを形成する工程と、前 記スラリーを硬化させ、前記ニッケル及びクロムあるいはその成分をカプセル化 する工程と、を有するニッケル及びクロムあるいはその成分をカプセル化する方 法。 5. 放射性物質を、炭酸カルシウムと苛性マグネシウム酸化物とを有する硬化 可能組成物に添加し、スラリーを形成する工程と、前記スラリーを硬化させ、前 記放射性物質をカプセル化する工程と、を有する放射性物質をカプセル化する方 法。 6. 前記硬化可能組成物は、さらに全組成物の重量の0.01%から20%の 間で含まれる硫酸塩添加物を含む、請求項1から5のいずれかに記載のカプセル 化の方法。 7. 前記硫酸塩は、マグネシウム硫酸塩あるいはアルミニウム硫酸塩といった (a)硫酸または(b)金属硫酸塩から選択される、請求項6記載のカプセル化 の方法。 8. 前記硬化可能組成物は、さらに、硬化する工程において炭酸塩化源として 作用する添加物を有する、請求項1から5のいずれかに記載のカプセル化の方法 。 9. 前記添加物は、クエン酸、レモン酸、酢酸、グリコール酸、蓚酸、他のジ カルボキシル酸やポリカルボキシル酸、あるいは他の酸性化剤、酒石酸、エチレ ンジアミンテトラ酢酸(EDTA)あるいは他のテトラ酸の群から選択される、 請求項8記載のカプセル化の方法。 10. 前記添加物は、全組成物の重量の0.01%から10%の間で含有され る、請求項9記載のカプセル化の方法。 11. 前記添加物は、苛性マグネシウム酸化物の炭酸塩化を促し、前記組成物 を再結晶化して、前記廃棄物質をカプセル化する硬化した物質とするようになっ ている、請求項9記載のカプセル化の方法。 12. 前記添加物は、前記有害廃棄物質あるいはその成分の周囲に錯体を形成 する配位子(リガンド)として作用し、硬化中の、あるいは硬化した物質中に前 記有害廃棄物質あるいはその成分を閉じ込める助けをする、請求項11記載のカ プセル化の方法。 13. 前記硬化可能組成物は無機塩をさらに有する、請求項1から5のいずれ かに記載のカブセル化の方法。 14. 前記無機塩は、アルミニウム硫酸塩、マグネシウム硫酸塩、ナトリウム 塩化物を含む金属塩群から選択される、請求項13に記載カプセル化の方法。 15. 前記無機塩は、全組成物の重量の0.1%から5%の間で含有される、 請求項14記載のカプセル化の方法。 16. 前記有害廃棄物質あるいはその成分は、平均粒子サイズが0.01mm から5.0mmの範囲内のパウダー状である、請求項1記載のカプセル化の方法 。 17. 前記平均粒子サイズが0.1mmから1.0mmの範囲内である、請求 項16記載のカプセル化の方法。 18. 前記硬化可能組成物の前記苛性マグネシウム酸化物は、 (a)炭酸マグネシウムおよび脱炭酸マグネシウムから成るマグネシウム組成物 、 (b)熱処理により二酸化炭素が遊離され、部分的にか焼された組成物を形成す る炭酸マグネシウム、 (c)炭酸カルシウムと、炭酸マグネシウムを熱して所望のか焼レベルまで二酸 化炭素を部分的に取り除くことにより事前に形成された苛性マグネシウム酸化物 とを混合して形成された人工組成物、 (d)マグネシウム欠乏ドロマイトを熱し、炭酸カルシウムと苛性マグネシウム 酸化物から成る組成物を形成し、さらに付加的に苛性マグネシウム酸化物を添加 したもの、 のうちから選択される、請求項1から5のいずれかに記載のカプセル化の方法。 19. 前記苛性マグネシウム酸化物は、前記炭酸マグネシウム内に2%〜50 %の二酸化炭素が含有される、請求項18記載のカプセル化の方法。 20. 前記砒素成分に添加された前記硫酸塩はアルミニウム硫酸塩である請求 項2記載のカプセル化の方法。 21. 前記砒素成分に添加されたアルカリ剤は炭酸カルシウムを包含する炭酸 塩である、請求項20記載のカプセル化の方法。 22. 前記砒素成分に添加される鉄塩化物は第二鉄塩化物である請求項21記 載のカプセル化の方法。 23. 前記硬化可能組成物は鉛あるいは鉛成分を含む、請求項5記載のカプセ ル化の方法。
