Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.電気化学燃料電池のための多孔質の電極基材であって、当該基材が低導電 性の予備成形したウェブを少なくとも一つ含み、このウェブが導電性の充填剤を 含有している、多孔質電極基材。 2.前記予備成形したウェブが1Ω・cmより大きい平面通過抵抗率(through-p lane resistivity)を有する、請求項1記載の多孔質電極基材。 3.前記予備成形したウェブが10Ω・cmより大きい平面通過抵抗率を有する、 請求項2記載の多孔質電極基材。 4.前記予備成形したウェブが電気絶縁体である、請求項1記載の多孔質電極 基材。 5.前記予備成形したウェブが織布である、請求項1記載の多孔質電極基材。 6.前記予備成形したウェブが不織布である、請求項1記載の多孔質電極基材 。 7.前記不織布が炭素繊維と結合剤を含む、請求項6記載の多孔質電極基材。 8.前記不織布が不黒鉛化炭素繊維マットである、請求項7記載の多孔質電極 基材。 9.前記予備成形したウェブがメッシュである、請求項1記載の多孔質電極基 材。 10.当該基材が少なくとも二つの予備成形したウェブを含み、且つ当該基材が 多層構造である、請求項1記載の多孔質電極基材。 11.当該基材が第一のウェブと第二のウェブを含み、第一のウェブが第二のウ ェブと実質的に同じである、請求項10記載の多孔質電極基材。 12.当該基材が第一の導電性充填剤を含有している第一のウェブと第二の導電 性充填剤を含有している第二のウェブを含み、第一の充填剤が第二の充填剤と組 成的に異なる、請求項10記載の多孔質電極基材。 13.前記予備成形したウェブがガラス繊維を含む、請求項4記載の多孔質電極 基材。 14.前記予備成形したウェブが不織ガラス繊維マットである、請求項13記載の 多孔質電極基材。 15.前記予備成形したウェブが高分子材料から本質的になる、請求項4記載の 多孔質電極基材。 16.前記予備成形したウェブがポリテトラフルオロエチレンから本質的になる 、請求項15記載の多孔質電極基材。 17.前記予備成形したウェブがポリテトラフルオロエチレンメッシュである、 請求項16記載の多孔質電極基材。 18.前記予備成形したウェブがポリパラフェニレンテレフタルアミドから本質 的になる、請求項15記載の多孔質電極基材。 19.前記予備成形したウェブがポリオレフィンから本質的になる、請求項15記 載の多孔質電極基材。 20.前記導電性充填剤が炭素粒子を含む、請求項1記載の多孔質電極基材。 21.前記導電性充填剤が炭化ホウ素を含む、請求項1記載の多孔質電極基材。 22.前記導電性充填剤が触媒を含む、請求項1記載の多孔質電極基材。 23.前記触媒が電気触媒である、請求項22記載の多孔質電極基材。 24.前記充填剤がイオノマーを含む、請求項23記載の多孔質電極 基材。 25.前記充填剤が結合剤を含む、請求項1記載の多孔質電極基材。 26.前記結合剤がポリテトラフルオロエチレンを含む、請求項25記載の多孔質 電極基材。 27.一対の導電性セパレータプレートとそれらの間に挿入された隔膜電極集成 体とを含む電気化学燃料電池であって、当該隔膜電極集成体が一対の電極とそれ らの間に挿入されたイオン交換膜とを含み、当該電極のうちの少なくとも一方が 多孔質の電極基材を含み、当該基材が低導電性の予備成形したウェブを少なくと も一つ含み、当該ウェブが導電性の充填剤を含有している、電気化学燃料電池。 28.前記セパレータプレートのおのおのが前記電極のうちの一方へ反応物の流 れを導入するために形成された少なくとも一つの流路を有する、請求項27記載の 電気化学燃料電池。 29.低導電性である予備成形したウェブに導電性の充填剤を充填する工程を含 む、電気化学燃料電池のための多孔質電極基材の作製方法。 30.前記予備成形したウェブが電気絶縁体である、請求項29記載の方法。 31.前記充填工程の前に、前記予備成形したウェブに孔を形成する、請求項29 記載の方法。 32.前記充填工程の前に、前記予備成形したウェブを親水性コーティングで被 覆する、請求項29記載の方法。 33.前記充填工程の前に、前記予備成形したウェブを疎水性コーティングで被 覆する、請求項29記載の方法。 34.前記疎水性コーティングがポリテトラフルオロエチレンを含む、請求項33 記載の方法。 35.前記導電性充填剤が結合剤を含む、請求項29記載の方法。 36.前記充填工程後に前記電極基材を熱処理する工程を更に含む、請求項35記 載の方法。 37.前記充填工程が前記予備成形したウェブに前記導電性充填剤をロール塗布 することを含む、請求項29記載の方法。 38.前記充填工程が前記予備成形したウェブに前記導電性充填剤をスクリーン 印刷することを含む、請求項29記載の方法。 39.多層の多孔質電極基材を作製する方法であって、 (a)低導電率である少なくとも二つの予備成形したウェブに導電性充填剤を 充填する工程、 (b)これらの少なくとも二つの充填されたウェブを一緒に積層する工程、 を含む多層の多孔質電極基材の作製方法。 40.工程(a)と(b)を連続して行う、請求項39記載の方法。 41.工程(b)が、前記少なくとも二つの充填されたウェブを積み重ね、そして 圧力と温度をかけ、それにより集成した多層電極基材を形成することを更に含む 、請求項39記載の方法。
