Claims (7)
1. ϋ The claims defining the invention are as follows A hydroxy-pyrimidine compound of the formula: and the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof wherein: R4 is hydrogen, halogen, lower alkyl of 1 to 3 carbon atoms, methoxy, or carboxy and R- is hydrogen, chloro or methyl. 5
2. 5- (£-Chlorophenoxy) -4-hydroxy-pyrimidine .
3. 5- (£-Fluorophenoxy) -4-hydroxy-pyrimidine.
4. Hydroxy-pyrimidines substantially as herein described in the Examples.
5. A process for preparing compounds according to claim 1, comprising reacting ethanol, thiourea and sodium methoxide with the sodium salt of a compound of the formula wherein R and 5 are as defined in claim 1, and Rg is alkyl of 1 to 3 carbon atoms, the formed thiouracil is desulfurized and the pyrimidine obtained by subsequent acidification.
6. A process for preparing- pyrimidines substantially as described in Example I.
7. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and a compound according to
