Az eljárást azjellemzi, hőgy valamely racém tramadőlsót a bázissá alakítanak, atramadől (-)-enantiőmerjét L-(+)-bórkősavval végzett kicsapássalelválasztják, és a bórkősavas lecsapás anyalúgjából a tramadől(+)-enantiőmerjét a tramadől bázis felszabadításával, majd a tartaráttóleltérő sóvá történő átalakítással izőlálják.ŕ
