Abstract
UN PROCESO PARA EL TRATAMIENTO DE UN MINERAL DE NIQUEL LATERÍTICO/COBALTO QUE CONSISTE EN UNA MEZCLA DE LIMONITA Y SAPROLITA, CARACTERIZADO PORQUE LA MEZCLA EN LA PRESENCIA DE UN AGENTE DE PRECIPITACION DE HIERRO SE CONVIERTE EN PULPA, QUE TIENE UN CONTENIDO DE SÓLIDOS ENTRE EL 10% Y EL 40% EN PESO, LA PULPA PASA POR UNA OPERACION DE LIXIVIACION CON ÁCIDO SULFURICO, A UNA TEMPERATURA ENTRE 70°C Y EL PUNTO DE EBULLICION A PRESION ATMOSFERICA. SE REALIZA LA SEPARACION DE SOLIDO Y LIQUIDO DE MANERA TAL QUE SE OBTENGA UN RESIDUO SÓLIDO QUE CONTIENE HIERRO Y UN RESIDUOO LIQUIDO QUE CONTIENE IONES DE NIQUEL Y COBALTO.
