Abstract

PROCESSO PARA LIXIVIAR MINéRIOS DE LATERITA CONTENDO LIMONITA E SAPROLITA. A presente invenção refere-se a um processo para lixiviar minérios de laterita contendo limonita e saprolita em um processo de dois estágios. O primeiro estágio consistindo em misturar e reagir o minério com ácido mineral concentrado, e o segundo estágio consistindo em preparar uma pasta da mistura de ácido/minério em água e lixiviar a mistura para dissolver níquel e cobalto. O ferro é eficientemente separado do níquel e cobalto no resíduo de lixiviação sólido primariamente na forma de um óxido ou hidróxido de ferro férrico outro que não jarosita.
