Abstract
Se relaciona con la eliminacion selectiva de mercurio a partir de alimentaciones acuosas que comprende tambien metales preciosos. En particular, la presente invencion es util para la eliminacion de mercurio proveniente de aguas de transformacion producidas durante los procesos para extraccion de metales preciosos. El proceso comprende poner en contacto la solucion acuosa de alimentacion con un material absorbente de solidos que comprende grupos funcionales tiol y/o tiolato, en donde (i) la solucion acuosa de alimentacion comprende al menos 10 ppm de iones de cianuro libre; y/o (ii) el material absorbente se pone en contacto con una solucion acuosa de cianuro despues del contacto con la solucion acuosa de alimentacion para desorber selectivamente un metal precioso del material absorbente.
