996,807. Building slabs and floors. G. M. ADIE. Oct. 20, 1961 [July 20, 1960], No. 37796/61. Divided out of 996,805. Headings E1B and E1V. A slab or floor is formed by casting foamed or other concrete or gypsum on to one or more fibre, plastic, or metal sheets 1 having truncated pyramidal or conical dimples 2 which may be apertured. Two such sheets may be secured face to face with the apices of the dimples abutting or interfitting and with concrete etc. applied to both sides, or to one side with a facing sheet on the other. A floor may comprise several sheets laid together side by side, other dimpled sheets or strips being laid across the joints between the sheets to hold them together and the whole then being covered with concrete. Alternatively, the sheets have flanged edges which are overlapped. Slats may be fitted across the lands 5 to key with the concrete. A double slab is formed by joining two slabs by their concrete faces while the concrete is only partly set. A slab may also comprise two sheets joined by their apices 3 which are apertured, concrete being cast on the outer faces of the sheets and being continuous through the apertures.
