Abstract

A former for use in cast-in-situ floors or roofs comprises an asbestos cement channel having sides 1 diverging from the base 2 and also having transverse corrugations 3 extending from one free longitudinal edge to the other. In the sides 1, the corrugations may taper towards the free edges. Stop-ends 4, Fig. 4 (not shown) may be secured at the ends of the channels by Z-shaped clips. In use, the formers are arranged between parallel beams with their ends abutting or overlapping, the concrete slab being cast on top of the formers and beams.
