Abstract

996,805. Laminates. G. M. ADIE. Jan 16, 1961 [July 20, 1960], No. 2088/60. Heading B5N. [Also in Division E1] A building panel for floors or partitions is constructed from two or more fibre, plastics, or metal sheets 1 having truncated pyramidal or conical dimples 3 and fastened together with the apices of the dimples adjacent, or opposed, by means of rivets 7 and/or adhesive such that spaces are formed between the dimples for service conduits. A multiple sheet panel may comprise several sheets which are arranged in different ways and a panel may include as a reinforcement two sheets as shown in Fig. 2 with the dimples of the one interfitting with the lands of the other. The panels may be faced with plane sheets which may in addition to the above materials be of plywood. In a floor, the panel is faced on one side with concrete cast about slats which are riveted over the lands 5 to provide a key. The Provisional Specification describes also a panel comprising a single dimpled sheet faced with one or two plane sheets. Specification 996,807 is referred to.
