Abstract

587,943. Constructional units. CUCKOW, A. E. E. June 6, 1944, No. 10840. [Classes 20 (ii) and 20 (iv)] Walls, floors and ceilings of a building are formed from preformed units of zig-zag shape and having flats A to allow a number of the units to be directly secured together with the planes of the units at right angles to the planes of the walls &c. The flats are connected by bolts and interlocking lugs, rivets or welding. Stiffening ribs or lipped perforations D, providing passage for piping and cables, may be provided. Strips cut from the edge of the unit provide claws for attachment of cladding. Sections of wall formed from the units may be united with the interposition of wood strips. The ends of the units are connected by plates K, Fig. 6. A floor, Fig. 7, is constructed of concrete filled into baskets M of expanded metal laid on a lattice of the preformed units.
