Abstract

The invention comprises 3,20-dioxo-9a -fluoro-11b - hydroxy - 16a ,17a - isopropylidenedioxy-21 -hydroxysulphonyloxy-pregna-1,4-diene, its salts with alkali metals, ammonia and organic bases, and a process for the production thereof which comprises converting 3,20-dioxo-9a -fluoro - 11b ,21 - dihydroxy - 16a ,17a - isopropylidenedioxy - pregna - pregna - 1,4 - diene into its acid sulphuric acid ester by known methods for converting a primary alcohol into its sulphuric acid ester. Pharmaceutical compositions having glucocorticoid and anti-inflammatory activities and containing the above compounds can be administered orally locally or parenterally in aqueous solution.
