Abstract

In automatic arc welding austenitic chromium nickel steel, the filler material at least partly in wire from produces the following weld deposit:- .0.05- 0.2%.C .0.25- 0.5%.Si .1.5 - 2.5%.Mn .24 -26%.Cr .19 -21%.Ni .0.2 - 1%.Ti and/or Zr .balance.Fe and impurities An electrode of the above compositions may be used in gas shielded arc welding. In submerged arc welding part of the deposit, e.g. Ti and/or Zr, may be provided by the welding powder.
