Abstract
A steel comprises:- .C.0.51 - 0.6% .Cr.10 - 20% .Ni.15 - 25% .Zr.2 - 4% .Ti.2 - 4% .Mo.2 - 4% .W.2 - 4% .Co.2 - 4% .B.up to 0.008% the balance, apart from impurities (P and S) and incidental elements (e.g. up to 1% each of Mn, Al and Si), being iron. The steels are solution-treated at 1800 DEG -2200 DEG F. and may be aged at 1200 DEG -1600 DEG F. (preferably 1275 DEG -1350 DEG F).
