Abstract

976,935. Liquid blast switches; couplings between relatively movable conducting parts. FABRIK VAN ELECTRISCHE APPARATEN VOORHEEN F. HAZEMEIGER & CO. N.V. June 1, 1961 [June 14, 1960], No. 19798/61. Headings H2B and H2E. Oil or other suitable liquid is forced into the side vented arc extinction chamber of a circuitbreaker by an extension of a contact member which is movable along its own curved axis. As shown for one phase of a three-phase circuitbreaker a common operating shaft 10 has limbs 26 secured thereto with lugs 27 slidable in slots 28 in a contact carrying member 9 and biased by springs 29. The shaft 10 is rotated anticlockwise to turn the member 9 about the same axis and close contacts 6, 7 and provide contact pressure by stressing the springs 29. The moving contact 6 in the member 9 is connected to a terminal 22 in the insulated casing 1 by double conical roller means 19 in engagement with the curved contact 6 and a curved metal bar 20, and the fixed contact 7 is connected to a similar terminal (Fig. 1, not shown) by its support block 17 and bars 23, 24. On contact opening oil, which enters a cylinder 12 by a non-return valve 13, 14 during closing movement, is forced by an extension 11 on the member 9 through passages 16, 18 into the vented extinction chamber 5.
