970,107. Grilling stoves. RADIATION Ltd., and C. D. MIDDLETON. Dec. 5, 1960 [Dec. 4, 1959], No. 41362/59. Heading F4W. An eye-level grill assembly comprises a cover spaced above a grill chamber to define a passage into which ambient air and heated gases leaving the rear and side edges of the grill chamber are drawn, these gases together with heated gases leaving the front edge of the chamber being exhausted through a vent at or near the front of the assembly. As shown, a grill chamber 2 mounted on the splash plate of a cooker houses an electric heating element 1 and has a cover 4 spaced from it to form a passage 5 to which cooling air flows through an aperture 6 in the splash plate. Any heated gases leaving the rear and side edges of the grill chamber are drawn into the passage. A channel section member 7 is spaced from the forward edges of the chamber 2 and cover 4 to form a slot 8 and an outlet 9. Heated gases leaving the front edge of the grill chamber pass through the slot 8 and flow out of the outlet 9 together with the mixture of gases from the passage 5. These heated gases may be used to heat a cupboard mounted above the grill.
