Abstract
816,889. Gas cookers. CANNON INDUSTRIES Ltd. April 8, 1958 [April 9, 1957], No. 11490/57. Class 126 A gas oven has a burner 3 housed in a combustion chamber 4 comprising a rear wall 5 with a combustion air inlet 14, a lower wall with an air vent 11 arranged forwardly of the burner, and an upwardly and rearwardly curving wall 9 between the chamber and oven which guides the heated air and combustion products through an aperture 10 and close against the back wall 8 of the oven. A baffle plate 12 is mounted on the lower wall between the vent and burner, spaced from the wall 9 and extends upwardly to a height above the burner nozzle 13 to protect the burner flame from any rush of air through the chamber, as indicated by arrows. This protection is also achieved by having the vent 11 of larger area than the inlet 14. Apertures 15 may be provided in the wall 9 to view the burner flame.
