Abstract

634,044. Cooking ranges. ALLIED IRONFOUNDERS, Ltd., and BLUMSON, E. J. March 16, 1948, No. 7857. [Class 126] In a cooking range wherein the oven is disposed above a combustion chamber, the oven 1 is seated on a substantial cover plate 5 of chrome-iron alloy or the like extending over the firebox 2, said oven having an internal convection flue formed between the bottom plate 1a and the cover plate 5 and between a back panel 1c and the back plate 1d, baffles 7 being supported between said plates 1 a and 5 by spacers 7a threaded on screws 7b engaging bosses 5e on said cover plate 5. Flue gases pass up the flue 2b, forwardly past baffles 3 and then rearwardly between said baffles 3 to an outlet 4. The baffles 7 are curved at one end 7c and at the other end each plate terminates at a greater distance from the front of the oven than the next plate above it. The panel 1 c and the flue 2b may be disposed at the side of the oven.
