Abstract
598,303. Grilling assemblies for gas cooking-stoves. CORNER & CO., Ltd., G., BENNETT, T., and HURST, E. Dec. 18, 1944, No. 25352. [Classes 75 (i) and 126] A grilling assembly for attachment to a gas cooker comprises a U-shaped burner, Fig. 5, supported on ribs 14 inside an open-fronted chamber 16, directly above a grilling pan which may be supported at various heights on the lugs 15. The burner is formed of two pressings 1, 2 united by pressed-over flanges 6, the front end being formed with a flared inlet 3b which constitutes, with the part 3a, a venturi throat 5. A metal strip 8 supports the grill frets and the front end of the burner has a downturned tongue 9 which rests on the pipe 10 supplying gas to the nozzle 10a. Keyhole slots 19 in the rear of the chamber, engaging with headed studs 20 in the back plate of the cooker enable the assembly to be fixed between the top of the oven and the hot plate, hot combustion gases pass out through an opening 18 in the top of the chamber.
