Abstract

670,407. Cooking-ovens. MAIN, Ltd., R. & A. Oct. 10, 1949 [Sept. 9, 1948], No. 21671/ 50. Class 126 (Divided out of 670,328). A gas cooker has a hot plate frame and an oven area provided with a flue conduit arranged wholly within the confines of the cooker and which extends rearwardly from an outlet at the forward part of the oven and meets an upwardly extending portion which either terminates short of the hot plate frame or registers with an opening in that frame. A grill chamber 49 and an oven 21 are arranged within the cooker casing formed from sheet metal panels having flanged edges. Hot gases leave the oven 21 through an opening 42 and pass into a shallow tray 38 which is secured to the central part of the top wall 22 of the oven 21 and which is provided with a cover 41. Hot gases pass through an opening 43 in the rear of the tray 38 into an upwardly extending conduit 44, which is disposed between the rear of the grill chamber and the outer casing of the cooker and escape through an aperture in the hot plate frame 49 of the cooker. The heat-responsive element of a thermostat is arranged within the tray 38. A splash guard 62 may be secured to the rear of the cooker. Specification 670,328 is referred to.
