Abstract

1452266 Grills W M STILL & SONS Ltd 13 Nov 1973 [9 Oct 1972] 46520/72 Heading A4D [Also in Division F4] A cooker or grill comprises an oven 2 with a grill pan 6 preferably heated by infrared heating elements 4. A filter housing 10 is attached beneath the oven 2 and contains a grease and smoke filter 12 and an activated carbon filter 14. A centrifugal fan (18), Fig. 1 (not shown) is located in a volute casing to one side of the filter housing and draws the fumes from the oven through the filters to an outlet (54), Fig. 3 (not shown). As shown, the fumes pass through a number of openings in a top reflector plate 24 and downwardly in a passage 30 to a back passage 36 of the filter housing. The filters may be disposed horizontally or angularly. The filter housing may be removed and replaced by a plain base. A controls compartment is located to one side of the oven above the fan (see Fig. 1). The fan (18) also draws cooling air through louvres into the controls compartment. A second fan Fig. 4, (not shown) may be provided for this purpose.
