Abstract

1,201,238. Self-cleaning ovens. WESTING- HOUSE ELECTRIC CORP. 11 Feb., 1969 [28 Feb., 1968], No. 7298/69. Heading F4W. A heat-cleaning oven incorporating an oven chamber 10 heated by electrical elements 24, 26 has air supplied to the chamber 10 through the upper ends 44 of two spaced vertically extending ducts 32 and 34 located adjacent the rear wall 18 of the oven. The air, which is supplied from the region 40 accommodating a storage drawer 42, flows upwardly through the ducts by convection. A smoke eliminator section 20, and a vent 30 for the degraded gases are provided adjacent the top of the oven. Most of the heat required for the cleaning operation is derived from the top heating element 24.
