838,778. Electric cooking ovens. PARNALL (YATE) Ltd. Aug. 7, 1956 [June 24, 1955], No. 18396/55. Class 39(3) An electric oven comprises a removable liner supported within the over carcase by runners, the rear wall of the liner being formed with at least one aperture permitting the passage therethrough of the plugs of a heating element disposed within the interior of the liner. As shown, a removable liner 2 has in its rear wall an aperture 5 through which plugs 6 of detachable heating elements 7 pass into sockets 8 mounted on the rear wall of the oven carcase. A further aperture (not shown) may be provided for a thermostatic device. The liner 2 is supported by means of members 10 and is slidably mounted on runners 9 on the oven carcase and an insulating chamber 11, e.g. of glass matting or asbestos sheeting, is disposed between the liner and the oven body. Slots 12 and 13 in the chamber 11 accommodate the sockets 8 and the guides 9 and the chamber is self supporting and self locating, being a one-piece moulding or built up from separate sheets secured together, and its interior may be faced with heat reflecting material such as aluminium foil. The heating elements may be mounted on the side, top, bottom or rear walls, or on a combination of walls. Where side mounted elements are used, they may be formed to provide supports for oven grid racks or shelves.
