820,555. Steam cooking appliances. PALMER, W. J. Sept. 11, 1957 [June 11, 1956], No. 17969/56. Class 66. [Also in Groups VI and XI] A steam cooking appliance for foodstuffs comprises an open-topped body 1 with detachable lid 2, a perforated plate 7 fitted inside and spaced above the base 3 of the body 1, and an electric heater or heaters, Fig. 3 (not shown), under the plate 7. The base 3, spaced above the lower edge 4 of the body wall, is formed with a channel 5 accommodating the heater mounted on the wall of the body 1. Ledge pieces 8 support the plate 7 above the base 3 to which they are secured, the plate 7 being detachable by means of a pair of handles 12. Studs 9 on opposite sides of the body 1 enable it to be hung pivotally. A closeable outlet 10 determines the level of water in the body 1 which is drained by a similar outlet 11. There may be more than one channel 5 each accommodating a heater.
