908,827. Grilling apparatus. GREENE, R. A. April 17, 1961, No. 13833/61. Class 28 (1). In a bacon-frying apparatus, a base 10 encloses a lower grid 20 which is in the form of at least one shallow vee, and a cover 12, hinged to the base 10, encloses an upper complementarily shaped grid 18, bacon to be fried being placed between the longitudinally undulating surfaces of the grids, whilst fat is allowed to drain away through slotted apertures 30 at the bottoms of the lower grid vees into removable drawers 34 in the base. The grids are heated either by electric or gas elements 42 located beneath the lower grid 20 on a support plate 40, or by electric elements actually housed within the lower or both grids, the time of heating being controlled by a timer 70 operated by an exterior knob 72. Accessories include an arcuate heat reflector plate 64 inside the cover, a flange 54 to prevent fat from spattering which is recessed to accommodate handles 60, 62 and 50 to the cover, upper grid and base respectively. The upper grid may be perforated and the lower grid has outer edges 28 flush with the top edge of the base 10 and turned over to provide support logs 26.
