Abstract

967,375. Portable cooking apparatus. A. YOUNG. April 5, 1962 [April 6, 1961], No. 13076/62. Heading A4D. A portable smoking and grilling apparatus comprises a food supporting grid 16 spaced from the bottom of a metal box 5, a slidably mounted lid 11, and supporting side members 2 hinged at 3 which may be held in the open position by wire members 6 or held in the closed position by a hinged wire clip 14. A similar wire clip 13 is provided for retaining the lid in its closed position. In use a small burner 21 together with a flame deflector 22 is positioned between the sides 2 to heat the bottom of the box 5. For smoking, sawdust is placed on the bottom of the box 5 below the grid 16.
