Abstract

1465150 Barbecue cookers WARTSILA AB OY 26 June 1974 [27 June 1973] 28248/74 Heading A4D A barbecue cooker comprises a bowl 1, a cooking grill 9 mounted or mountable within the bowl, an opening 5 in the bottom of the bowl allowing entrance of heat from a flame, a cover 6 above the opening and below the grill, and a removable lid 11 for closing the bowl above the grill, the lid being provided with at least one opening 12. Cover 6 overlaps the edge of the opening 5 and is carried by supports 7 leaving large free openings 8 at the sides of cover 6. The bowl bottom is at least substantially flat so the barbecue may be placed on and heated by a gas or liquid burning stove 4. Detachably attached to grill 9 is a tray 10 for collecting drips from the food, which is made of thin aluminium and is replaced by a new one after use. The tray can alternatively rest directly on cover 6 and then contains smoke-producing material for the smoking of food on grill 9. At least some parts of the barbecue are of enamelled metal, cover 6 and the edges of opening 5 being of specially heat resistant enamel and the inner surface of the bowl being of self-cleaning enamel. In the embodiment of Fig. 2 (not shown) the cooker includes a detachable holder (14) for a heating unit (15).
