Abstract
566,188. Food-warmers. HOSKEN, S. T. May 25, 1943, No. 8345. [Class 66] A cover 10 is adapted to be placed over a plate 11 for cooked food which stands on a saucepan 12 or like vessel so that gaps 14 and 15 are left between the plate and the cover, and the plate and the vessel, respectively, in order that steam may circulate round and above the food. The gaps are produced by means of a plurality of clips 13 which are detachably affixed to the plate. The cover, which may be made of metal, earthenware, unglazed pottery or of plastic material, is provided with helical ribs 105 and a protuberance 102 which produce a turbulent circulation of the steam before it leaves through vent 103. The clips which may be made from non-corrodible, enamelled, or plated metal or moulded plastic material, can also be fitted with extension pieces 133 which collectively form a stand for the plate. In a modification, the clips are affixed to the cover, one clip being secured to a hinged portion 106, Fig. 3, to allow for insertion of the plate. Specification 337,484, [Class 66], is referred to.
