Abstract

867,113. Steaming soil. NOBLES (WELLINGBOROUGH) Ltd. March 31, 1959 [July 19, 1958], No. 23242/58. Class 6(2). [Also in Group XVII] Apparatus for steaming soil comprises a bucket-like container 1 for the soil to be treated, provided with a lid 3, a perforated, conical bottom 4, and a supplementary handle 10 near its base to facilitate manipulation of the container. The container is also formed at. its base with a flange 1a and depending rim 7 in order that it may rest securely on the rim 6a of a vessel 6 for boiling water, the joint between the two parts of the apparatus being rendered steam-tight by a washer 8. The water in the vessel 6 may be heated by an electric heating element 9, or the vessel may be provided with legs, in which case the heat may be supplied by a gas ring.
