Abstract

[Glass 126] The air circulation in an electrically-heated domestic oven is facilitated by mounting a removable compartment 14 within a lagged oven casing 13 leaving air passages at the bottom and sides in which are electric heating elements 17. 19. Air is admitted through openings 26 into chambers 24 at the bottom of the side walls of the oven, where the lagging is discontinued, and passes upward through the passages 16 into the oven compartment. Part of the air flows out of the oven through an outlet opening 30 in the back wall of the casing at a level about twothirds or three-quarters of the oven compartment. A further part of the air leaves the oven through side openings 32, below the level of the heating elements 17, and recirculates over the elements. The back wall of the compartment 14 lies adjacent the back wall of the casing 13.
