Abstract

1,192,906. Cooking ovens. CALORIC CORP. 31 March, 1969 [3 April, 1968], No. 16792/69. Heading F4W. A self-cleaning gas oven 10 having a radiant burner 64 and a conventional oven burner 44 incorporates a flue box 96 located in the flue duct 88 opposite the exhaust vent 86 for the degradation products. The back wall 94 of the flue box is cooled by air passing upwardly through the duct 88. The rear wall 92 of the duct 88 is cooled by air passing upwardly through a surrounding vertical duct 106. A vertical baffle 112 interposed in the duct 106 subdivides the flow of air to more efficiently cool the region adjacent the flue box. Similar baffles (102, Fig. 3) may be interposed in the flue duct 88. A V-shaped baffle 100 is located in the flue box to evenly distribute the degradation products.
