Abstract

797,288. Portable gas heaters. CALOR GAS (DISTRIBUTING) CO., Ltd. June 1, 1956 [June 9, 1955], No. 16592/55. Class 126 A gas burner fed from a storage cylinder is mounted on a frame or casing detachably mounted on the cylinder, which is insulated from the heat of the burner. A casing 7 fits round the top and side of a gas storage cylinder 1 and is supported by lugs 29 engaging a shroud 5 protecting the outlet valve 3 of the cylinder. A reflector 8 is mounted in an opening in the front of the casing 7, and radiants 10 are heated by a burner fed from a mixing tube 11 above a gas jet 13 connected through a regulator 15 within the casing and a flexible tube 17 with the gas cylinder outlet 4. A partition 18 screens the regulator 15 and cylinder 1 from the heat of the burner, and with a second partion 21 forms a duct for cooling air entering at the bottom of the casing. A guard 25 is hinged to the casing at the top. A cooking appliance may be mounted on a suitable casing similarly attached to a gas storage cylinder.
