Abstract

1,065,677. Portable cooking apparatus. M. G. L. D. CORNIL. Oct. 29, 1964 [Oct. 30, 1963], No. 44218/64. Heading A4D. [Also in Division F4] Multi-purpose heating apparatus, preferably for operating with a gaseous fuel, includes a box-like stand comprising a frame 1, a removable drip tray 2 forming the base of the box, and a removable cover 5; a parabolic reflector 8 housing a gas distributor head 9, and radiant element 10 and having a grille 11 at its open side, is mounted above the stand on legs 13 which are themselves adjustable within tubes 15 fitting within the stand. The arrangement is such that the components are transportable within the box, Fig. 1 (not shown). A low voltage motor 21 is slipped on to one of the tubes 15 and the associated leg 13 and is connected to a roasting spit 24. The stand is mounted on a frame 20 attached to the nozzle of a gas cylinder 19 which supplies the distributor head by means of a pipe 17. The apparatus may be adapted for grilling by turning the reflector towards the drip tray on which a grill rests, Fig. 3, not shown), as a radiator, Fig. 4 (not shown) or as a hot-plate by turning the reflector away from the stand, Fig. 5 (not shown). The apparatus may be used in a fixed position by removing the cover (5) and using this as a back plate, Fig. 6 (not shown).
