[Also in Group XIII] A stove adapted for suspension in e.g. a poultry house comprises a burner 2 mounted within an open-bottomed, inverted-trough shaped outer casing 1, the inner surface of a similar casing 3, spaced. from the casing 1 and overlying the burner 2, being heated thereby and radiating heat through the open bottom 5 of the casing 1. The outer surface of the inner casing may be lagged at 8 and heated air and combustion gases pass to the upper parts of the poultry house through apertures 9 in the outer casing, flaps 10 tending to deflect the air downwardly. The bottom 5 is covered by gauze and primary air inlets of the burner 2 and a pilot burner 16 are enclosed in a housing (not shown) outside the casing 1, air entering the casing 1 through the bottom 5 passing through a filter screen (not shown) to the housing which is attached to the burners 2 and 16 and withdrawable therewith as a unit.
