[Class 137] [Also in Group XII] An electrically heated convection heater for greenhouses and the like consists of a casing 12 having air inlet and outlet openings 20, 21, electric heating elements 24, a vessel 16 containing water in the path of the air, and controllable means for bringing the heated air into contact with the water. The air is deflected downwards over the water by a pivoted baffle 22 which may be operated automatically by a hygroscope at the outlet of the heater. The air may pass over a foraminous sheet or a sheet of fabric arranged to dip into the water to an adjustable extent. The neater contains a heat retaining mass 15.
