A pad of the shape shown for use in babies' napkins is cut or torn from a web 7 of cellulose wadding or cotton wool. The web may be backed with waterproofed cellulose or vinyl chloride and the side which contacts the skin may be lined with an unwoven absorbent textile. Buttonholes 8 are provided and the pad may be torn off along creases or weakening lines 6. Several rows of the pads can be cut from a web of suitable width.
